« on: May 27, 2014, 08:48:03 pm »its got f model dt cases which are the same as the yz cases, IT's have much better transfer ports and wont work with the yz's or dt's sooo someone might have put the guts of a yz into those cases if not you have a wide ratio yz with a piss poor box as the dt's have bevelled gears to reduce friction.
Ah yep DT not IT as i had in my head.
I would imagine someone would replace the bottom end with the correct one anyway.

Anyone interested in this 1977 YZ 125 D ?
Ive been up in the air weather to sell this or not, but i have got a more important project at the moment that could use some funding!
I bought the bike around 2 years ago, it ran great i rode it up and down the street. I have since pinched a few parts for my other D model such as kick starter and rear brake arm.
It does come with a tank, that had been painted i got as much paint off as i could, pics to come.
Has an IT bottom end, but correct 1W1 barrel. Ive never pulled the head off to check condition.
Pictures tell the best story, any specific photos just ask and i will get them.
Im asking $800. (400 swingarm, 300 head, 100 bike)

« on: April 22, 2014, 09:07:31 pm »Yes the bike is mine. Piston is on last oversize, albeit new, may need sleave. Bottom end rebuilt at restoration in 2001. The bike has had only one ride since then. Shock restored, frame and plastics painted. Tank has not a mark. Needs front brake shoes. At resto I ran out of money on this job. My little 125x needs some love from a MOTOX person as I am into Vinduro.

I love pre 95! i was 8 years old when these came out and used to read about them all the time.
I did always want a 125 tho, so after i finish this bloody car, get married in February and finish my other bike i will find a 125 and build that instead!

I bought those spokes, they are ok but not great and starting to oxidise after about 2 years. Wont use them again.
