Hi,does anyone know of a tyre that comes close to the tread pattern of a competition tyre from the mid 70s.I'm trying to get as close to the original Dunlop Sports that came standard on my resto kx450.Thanks

believe it or not they still worked with no leaks. Not too sure if they are aftermarket redwing hammerheads as they have a two spring setup. On the kawasaki parts diagram there is only one spring.Someone may know.

Thanks for the info about the enduro kit, makes perfect sense since the bike was originally purchased in QLD.The restoration has started with  shocks and forks at the rechromers ,motor being rebuilt, and nuts and bolts ready for the anodiser. Here we go again!

I thought something was odd when I saw that the numbers didn't match as it definitely was a one owner since new bike. Now the question is do I take the enduro gear off and convert it back to mx state and restore it or simply leave as is.Does anyone know if the enduro kit was for Australian kxs only?

Hi
Can someone please help identify a bike I bought yesterday.I believe it is a 74 kx450 as it looks identical to all pics i have seen. The frame no. is k5e 900013 and engine number is k5e 900014.The bike is originally from QLD and one owner since new and has had very little use (still has original tyres)It has got an enduro kit fitted with a headlight and has been registered in SA.I am going to restore this bike with the intention of racing it so any help from the guys that have restored Kawasakis would be greatly appreciated as I am more of a Yamaha/Suzuki man
Cheers Phil

Hi, has anyone out there got a set of forks for a 77 RM125, or even a bottom fork leg with the brake backing lug attached that they would like to sell. Also chasing a bottom frame rail crossmember with the bottom engine mounts attached.
Cheers

I have exactly the same problem with my yz250g.Had a complete rebuild including main bearings and seals.Runs perfectly for a lap or two and then just revs out like yours. The local bike shop has just split the motor again and found that the left hand side crank is worn where the main bearing fits, goes on tight but then has a loose spot.Theory is at this stage is that the seal is ok until it gets hot then goes to pieces with the excess movement.Hope this isn't your problem!

I waited nearly six months for a Gemco pipe/muffler from the states through Maxwells,He kept me informed of the delay and sent me a near perfect loan pipe to use at no cost.If you are waiting for a Gemco pipe,it is well worth the wait!

my 8 year old has a JR80 that he rides everyday.Bought it secondhand for $1200 and he loves it,makes me smile because it is aircooled and drum brakes,he never complains about the lack of power or braking!A great little bulletproof bike!

A few years ago I was checking stock waters on the station,45degrees middle of summer 50ks from home nobody knew where I was broke a fanbelt on the landcruiser.Tried everything but couldnt get the waterpump to turn, until I noticed the little rubber strap that holds the toolkit up against the rear of the cab,Stretched it around, fitted perfectly, drove home, strap was still perfect.Necessity is the mother of all inventions!
