Anyone out there have a complete / near complete motor.
Preferably a pre 75. I am putting a Antig dirt track bike together.
Thanks,
Steve.

Steve, I am running a 32mm Amal on my B44. I did try a 34mm mikuni on methanol but it felt a bit too big.

Looks like there also mods to the cylinder and cylinder head. Larger than std exhaust would also indicate that there has been a increase in valve sizes.

Stolen! / Thieves in Kingswood
« on: December 21, 2013, 06:51:47 pm »
Well I had the pleasure of having two bikes stolen last night!
Unfortunately one of them was a 150 Honda that my Grandson has been using, the other was my IT 490.
I hope they get on the 490 and break their necks.
The IT is easy to spot it has yellow plastics and a modified shock for dirt track.
The 150 has also been lowered and set up for the dirt track.
So if anyone see these bikes for sale in the Penrith area please PM me.
Thanks,
Steve.

I've been running shell M all year in my motor and clutch. But do use a mineral oil in the gear box which is a heavier grade. As for cams I have one by Tighe cams in Qld and it is a stump puller! Mark Cook has been invaluable and the clutch he sold me is just fantastic.  I highly recommend Mark not only for the parts he sells but also for his advice in decision making. Steve.

Has anyone seen final instructions yet.
Had a look on the Temora web site, with no luck.
Am I looking with my eyes closed again?

How come the 400 mtr track is ok to use now. Was'nt that a problem for King of Nepean and the Speeway riders day. I thought that this track was also unlicensed ?

Great work Dennis. I am a definite starter :)

Competition / Re: king of nepean NO SLIDERS ALLOWED

Words fail me !
Riders should vote with their feet and walk away from this event.

Entries are now out.
This year approval has been given for the use of knobby rear tyres for bikes up to the pre 78 class.
So all you VMX guys come and have a skid on the flat stuff.  ;D

Bike Talk / Re: rear disc brakes pre 75
« on: May 30, 2013, 06:48:54 pm »
Mom's specify machines and components built up to 1974 for pre 75. So if your components are made up from a bike 1974 or earlier it would be acceptable. A disc brake would however make the bike ineligable for the evo class.
Interestingly though is the frame and parts section for the classic slider class. There is no mention of brakes at all, only wheel sizes and suspension.
The motors are limited to 2 valve push rod motors, or two strokes made before Dec 1976.
I think the issue Jim raised about two brakes comes into play when you wish to race in modern events under the rules in section 20 of the Mom's.

Like Dave I started racing with Spanish bikes, first a Bully, then a Monty.
But then I got my hands on a brand spanking new Hagon 84s, boy oh boy what a bike.
Sold it Len Anderson when I went to speedway. But I would give my left nut for one now. :)
