Be carful with the steel piston stop. When I was working on chainsaws I saw a few guys punch holes in pistons with steel piston stops. I liked to use a peice of rope coiled up in the combustion chamber. You wouldnt happen to have a lathe would you.

Speaking of them looking like a Honda. I was reading an old ADB lastnight where they had a shootout with a 85 KTM Husky & Maico 250 MX. They bent the Maico, but aparently Maico even admited they liked the look of the RC Honda fuel tank so they coppied it. Probly a load of s**t but who knows.

The article I was reading was in Trail & track. It said pretty much what your bit said but over 3 pages. There was also a article in ADB but it was pretty uninformative. Just interesting to see what happened to these ideas. Ha just had a thought. Would it be legal in a pre 90 class. That should open a can of worms.

Was going through some old mags on the weekend & found some articles about the boysen link rear suspension. I remember the big deal the world made of this amazing but complex system. Does anybody know what ever hapened with the system. There were predictions that it would be on production bikes in a few years. But instead the manufactures went simplier eg PDS.

Can OZKTM contact me again. I have been sending you messages but I dont know if you are getting them. It would be cool to find the bike that Jimmy Ellis was racing. I am pritty sure his had its share of preproduction parts on it. Like a power valve cyl etc.
