Thanks!

I'm amazed how many new bits you can get for an old bike! I can buy almost everything brand new.

Lol. To be honest I've been sitting on a powder coated frame for at least 4 months! Only this week got the other gear to the recommended fellas up here. When I work out how to post the pics, I put up the photo of the frame…and maybe a box of engine bits! Hahaha

Nice work mate. Mine was a rolling frame and very large box of bits. After rummaging through I think no:
- barrel
- kick starter
- Front disc caliper, line or reservoir
- gear shift
- levers, cables, throttle assy

Shock in at RAD Shocks, forks in at RAD Hard Chroming, Clamps going to Brisbanes Best Polishing.

Very bloody exciting...

Yours should be way ahead of mine!

Interested in how the hydroblast comes up. I have several alloy bits and may go the motor too. There's one guy on the Sunshine Coast I've heard of who looks cool. Keen to see how your parts come out.

Thanks  Ian
I've got a box of bits that may well resemble a 1986 YZ125S one day. Put some pics up as you go.
I have a baziilion photos up on evernote that I will link or upload shortly when I create a build thread.
You nearby Kiwi or across the ditch?

I'm on the Gold Coast mate.

Hello All,
Yes i'm still racing in the Vet class and have a new KTM350, but I am super keen to get back racing the older bikes like I did in the 80s. I have a box of bits that may well be a 1986 YZ125S. Frame has been stripped and powder coated, but thats as far i've got so far…Looking for some help in the Brisbane area with suspension, wheel rebuilds and bottom end. Maybe nowadays I can afford to rectify some of the 'rode the worst bike that year' mistakes I did in the 80s - like my '81 YZ125, '82 CR125, '87 KX125 and '88 RM125..lol - not that the '86 YZ125 was flash, but I got it cheap and you've got to start somewhere. Keith Bowen Replica YZ125 here I come...
