Competition / Re: Round 5 N.S.W Heaven V.M.X At Lakes
« on: August 23, 2009, 08:42:34 pm »
Great weekend. Thanks to the Lakes Club for the venue. Good to have somewhere with some permanent creature comforts such as power, toilets and hot showers. I had a ball racing on this track and can't wait to go back there. Couple of guys hurt during practice on Saturday ( Greg & Dean) , hope you guys are on the mend quickly and back racing soon.
Some new members for the club also on the weekend and talking with those guys, they are keen to finish the year off with all rounds, so good to see. Thanks to the committee for all there hard work that they put in for an event and hope that Dennis is on the mend soon. I think he may of just got scared after his last weekend at Buladelah???
Would be good to get more feedback regarding the track? Cheers
Dan

Toronto is certainly the closest being only five minutes from the track. Plenty of places to eat and stay in close proximity to the track. Should be a great weekend. Can't wait. As Don said , get your entries in early so that Don is not swamped with entries all at once.

Competition / Re: How was the new Canberra track
« on: April 06, 2009, 07:45:39 am »
Great weekend. Thanks to all the people that were involved, especially Dennis. He worked tirelessly over the week leading up to the event and also over the weekend. He even gave up riding to be the clerk of the course so that the rest of us could ride, so as a club, we need to have a think about that. I would like to put a motion forward at the next meeting that Dennis receives 'his average points' for this round at the end of the year so that he is not disadvantaged. Let's not forget that due to other race meetings on in that area, that there was a shortage of officials and Dennis gave up his ride so that the rest of the HEAVEN club could have a ride! I am keen to get some feedback on this point guys, please have a think.
As for the track, well. My thoughts are good and not so good.
Good points - great surface, excellent watering system, good layout, very 'modern bike' friendly.
Not So Good points - Not very vintage friendly now with the large step-up jumps ( and yes I know you can roll them but we all know what happens when the gate drops)
But, that being said, had a great weekend and would not have missed it for quids. Canberra is always a top event and look forward to the August event.
Bring on CRC.

Guys,
I am currently building an 84 CR500 Honda for the 2009 season but am in need of a clutch cover. Can anyone help? I have been scanning evilbay etc, but at the moment, no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have you tries Newcatle Dirtbike dismantlers at Maryland? I have found them pretty good to deal with.

Great weekend. Was a little bit hot on the Saturday for practice, but everyone still seemed to cut plenty of laps without any incidents or injuries. After a fun day of riding, a large number of people gathered in one of the local Halls for a catered meal and refreshments while watching photo slides and DVD's of past events.
Sunday racing again went well with plenty of action and dicing for the last points on offer for the year with the hilight probably being the Presidents invitation race with a number of battles taking place within the race.
I didn't hear any complaints about the weekend but if anyone has any constructive critiscism, how about sharing it so that it can be taken on board for the next event.
Bring on the 2009 season. Bigger and better.
