Quick update on 2010 CRC. This year shall see the format change a little , with Saturday being dedicated to the CRC trophy races, including age races and Jack Ireland invitational. Practice shall be from around 11am to 12pm, a short break, with racing to start around 12:30 to 1pm. Saturday night will see a sit down meal catered by the guys from  "Valley Spit Roast" and the presentation of trophies from the days racing. This shall be followed by lots of liquid refreshments and plenty of bench racing around the campfire. Sunday shall see two full rounds of normal HEAVEN racing. Flyer for the event shall be out next week but if you have any questions in the meantime, do not hesitate to contact mysef. Cheers.
Regards

Well another great weekend done & dusted. Loads of great racing, plenty of track time on the Saturday, couple of movies on the big screen Saturday night accompanied by plenty of liquid refreshment.
Couple of showers on Sunday made for some interesting moments on the track but all in all another great weekend.
Big thanks to all those that helped out on the weekend with sign-on, flag marshalling, set-up and marking out the track (as well as pulling down the bunting at the end of the weekend).
Bring on Lakes in May!

Who is familiar with the Lakes track near Toronto ( Newcastle) NSW? Those of you who know the track, what's your thoughts on it for a venue? Would cut out the bottom section with the stutters in it and just run the top section. 95% natural terrain on the side of a hill. Good facilities, plenty of accomodation only 10 minutes away in Newcastle suburbs, plenty of water for the track, good spectator viewing. HEAVEN runs rounds of our series at this track and members love the place. Tell me what people think? Cheers

I shall be OK for this weekend, especially now that it has started to rain, so will have to wait and see what  the weather does but I shall be organising a working bee before the CRC in June, so I shall advise as soon as the date is set. Cheers guys.

Bob,
You certainly can, just be mindful of the file size, that's all. If the files are to large, it may be better to put them on a disc and post them to me. Talking to Ringo and Bradbury tonight. You need to get onto Bradbury about getting his shit together and being at the start line for Bulahdelah. Cheers.

General Discussion / Re: Which VMX class is the best to Race in?
« on: March 29, 2010, 07:46:27 am »
All good stuff guys.
I think the main point again as stated previously, is about having fun. Whether it be on the track or off it. It doesn't really matter what type of scooter you are riding ( as long as its a HONDA ,LOL) as long as you are enjoying yourself. I have just as much fun working on the bikes and socialising with everyone at the race meetings. I have found that the HEAVEN club has attracted a great bunch of people that are all easy to get along with and only to willing to help each other out, whether it be on a race weekend or helping source parts away from the track between meetings.
My suggestion Col would be to get whatever bike comes along first, no matter what the condition and just have a ride. Enjoy the whole experience.
I went to watch a HEAVEN round at Glenbawn in May 2007, by the June long weekend I had purchased my first "Project" ( 83 Honda XR 350 that I madodified with 84 CR suspension front & rear) and was racing in my first event in September. I haven't missed a round of the HEAVEN racing since then and now have 3 bikes in racing trim and another 3 projects on the go that will hopefully be going by the end of the year.
In short , it's addictive ( or maybe an obsession ???) not really sure yet. Try it and you'll be hooked I'm sure.
