The next photos are from the AUST V ENG test at kingaroy 16/01/83. Steve Schofield and Trevor Banks. This meeting was run as a small track meeting [ no right hander]. All these guys were riding into the pit corner so hard you would swear the handlebars were going to snap off.

Great old shots TTezza. Those crashes still look painful after all these years. Nice 4valve jap and the speedway bikes. They always look nice with the painted fuel tanks.

Sliderulz, post my pics wherever you like. I will be sending more soon. I think the more photos and info from all eras out there the better. The history of dirt track is all very interesting.

A graphic illustration of the different riding styles. Slider vs Mx. This photo was taken at Ballina. Saw an amazing thing happen to Chris Watson there one day. Part way through the fast corner at the end of the straight his godden broke a conrod just under the gudgeon pin. The remaining part of the rod then proceded to cut the crankcases in half. The motor then fell out of the frame and under the back wheel. Chris rode the chassis to a standstill with the engine plates dragging on the ground. The motor was about fifty metres away. I would not have thought it possible if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes... amazing.
