Title: YZB/MXB shock fit?
Post by: RED ALERT on October 01, 2009, 02:44:30 pm
Hey yamaha experts, Can anyone tell me if the MX400B mono-shock will fit into the YZ360B?
They look very similar, though the part numbers are different. Reason I ask is that I noticed
that Works Performance make a shock for the MX400B, Reasonably priced too. Was keen to
maybe look into another shock with more adjustment for racing.

I believe so.

My belief is based on the fact that I can't pick the difference between the shock that came out of my YZ250B frame and a YZ125X shock.
The most likely sticking point is the amount of travel, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

Rod - I thought the shock was longer - this is the additional travel??  Also would be interested - do you have a price???

cheers

They list the cost at $435 USD. Might have to email them and ask if they know if it fits.
They list the overall length as 22.5 inches. Comes with threaded pre-load and adjustable rebound.

I'm pretty shaw that all of those monoshocks with the bowel are the same, most of the part numbers for the parts start with 483 (YZ250B) and I think they may have had little updates over the 3 years they produced them. They gained the extra travel by repositioning the swingarm mount and posibly the front frame mount. It would be good to see the works one as the std one is pretty average. Cheers John.
