Hi, I'm restoring a 1980 465g but the frame is missing the rear hoop that holds the mud guard. Has anyone got an old frame with this complete.
Thanks,
Stephen
This is the damage.

and again.... It lived in a chook run on a farm..lol It snapped the rod during a race. They used the origional cylinder as a plant holder at the back door. I have a NOS 3R5 cylinder someone got with the other bike. The origional cylinder of that bike is a couple oversize and worn heaps but it is strange as it has no 3R5 markings on it at all. Didnt all 465/490 cylinders have the number cast into them?

what loop is that ?
-
IT frames have the rear hoop to mount the guard to.
YZ frames have the 2 tube sections behind the sidecovers only - coming back from the toop shock mount

There is a flat perforated (hoop/loop) that runs under the seat that mounts the rear guard. He may be talking about that!

Hi,
I have two frames for YZ465G in the pile but the other is a matching number one as well and I think it is a shame to take an angle grinder to it. I want to do up this bike as a mate used to race it around Canberra years ago and he was photographed on it in a local magazine. I still need to decide definitly which one.
I noticed the other frame has the loop cracked on this side as well about 3/4 of the way through. On this bike the origional loop in the mudguard is still there but has been hacked up badly by repeated weldings years ago. They must of flipped the old girl a lot.
I just thought someone might have a badly damaged frame around without matching cases with this intact.
Thanks,
Stephen
