Im looking for some wider footpegs for a YZ250K 83. Are they available? Where?

best thing I ever did was send my footpegs (mounts and all) to Geoff at GMC (here on the forum)- the returned footpegs are excellent. I dont even bother trying to find any now - just send them off to Geoff - (just look out though as he is a little cheeky!!!!)

Pegs to suit pitbikes work.
Pegs to suit Honda XRs work.
Pegs to suit later YZs work with a bit of tweaking.
Pretty sure that pegs to suit PW50s work(!).
Pretty sure that pegs to suit The steel framed Honda CRs work.
I get a bit annoyed by the Ebay listings and parts books that say things like "Yamaha YZ125, 250, 490, 1985 and newer", because anything that fits an 85 model will fit every other Yamaha since they dropped the whacky pegs mounts that thy used on the early MXers (YZ & MX, before 1977).

GMC to the rescue!
Ballards also do footpeg wideners, but GMC's are bigger and not as brutal on your boots - cheaper too, I think... The Ballards ones are super sharp, which seems cool, but they tear your boots to shreds unless you spend some time taking the edges off.

I rummaged through the box of leftover parts from my Ct110 postie/140 pitbike conversion and found a set of forged footpegs. Nice looking units and they fit, except the pin is smaller. There seems enough room to drill them out. Thanks for the info. If all else fails i will go GMC.
