I was fortunate to spend last week in Victoria to attend the Annual Oceania MX champs ( the Bledisloe cup of MX ) at Barraboll :)
You probably know by now that Aussie triumphed again (thats 3 in a row ) :( but what a great weekends racing. NZ was stronger in the MX1 and womens but you guys smoked us in the Juniors & Lites.
As well as the local Talent craig Anderson Daryll hurley etc superstars Josh Coppins & American Ryan Hughes rode and put on a great display .
There were some nice VMXers on display inc a beautifull Yamaha HL witch attracted a lot of attention .
Caught up with me mate Nic smith who was going to race his 79 CR in support until a slight mechanical mishap.
Dissapointing not to see Reed , Cooper & Broxholme ( politics apparantly ) ::)
Naturaly after racing the event was very social and a big thanks to Dacky and his team for helping me crash start my Van ::)
The event was a fund raiser to try to help save Mcadam Park and local buisness man Steve sweeny really dug deep to help make this event happen.
I had not been to Barraboll since CD 3 and you forget what a great facility it is , I hope the club is succsesfull in its bid to purchase this venue as not to would be a dreadfull loss to the sport.
How about we run a Vintage Oceania two rounds one here and one over there :) All profits to the save Mcadam park fund :)

it was held in my backyard but i didn't make it.

I have finally got my name on the wall after a few go's at it . You need to disable pop up blockers to get to the checkout. If you gohttp://http://www.smcc.com.au/ and have a look around it shows what they are doin to save this great track have a look . Viper#436 yzhilly tile no 436. For the VMX Oceania Maybe a international race sometime over the weekend at Tassie ?.Or maybe just a beer drinking challenge ?.

My names on tile 79 and has been for a long while now, if we all chip in they might just get to keep it. They have big plans for the place if they can buy all three blocks, they would like to build a motorsport complex including a supercross track, natural terrain track, a enduro loop, trials area and maybe even a flat track, also accommodation facilities etc.
So if we all buy a tile or two it just might happen.
Oh if you haven't guessed it, I am a member at Barrabool :)

C'mon Guy's $138 your name and race number if you get in first reserved forever ?. How many of our tracks have dissappeared forever here is a chance to chip in save something from the do goooders.
