i think i have a  82 250 i think there the same .

'82 and '83 are different, '83 and '84 are the same. I'm in the process of doing rebuilt exchange linkages for all the CRs and I have a couple of 1983 ones here

what im trying to find out oy the u bracket at the base of the linkage is it longer than an 82 will it lower the bike and will it fit the 82

Yes its longer and a different design. 81/82 is wishbone style 83 on is wider at the frame looks more like a tuning fork. Magoo says 83 and 84 are the same but I thought that the 84 was longer - like the simons links that were the go an the 83's.
