Got a couple of slightly bent chrome legs of the forks that I would like to straighten. The worst one is about six mm out. None of them have a crease that could cause a breakage.
Guess I need some "V" blokes, but how do you set it up? Can I use an hydraulic car jack or do I need a heavy duty press? How do you find the exact spot to press on?
They are all bent just below the bottom triple clamp and although they are not bent by much, it is quite pronounced at the axel.
All are 35mm
Any help is appreciated

when i send forks to the hardchromers, they automatically straighten them if needed as they dont run true in the lathe otherwise. Dont ask me how they do it, all i know is they come back straight and good as new.

between v blocks,i've always used a small press,(9t),3" alloy block to spread load, whatch you don't flatspot legs,(if thin wall forks like Rickman, bail!!),keep the v blocks a fair equal distance apart, index high spot with texta, press through opposite bend,it's just diminishing returns till forks are straight,if serious use dial guage, but like truing wheels, by eye's pretty good??(well mine is, ;D),rotate legs in blocks using the arbour as guage (just a poothteenth off),it's not rocket science ::),good luck :P

Rad only charge $20.00 to straighten them why would you chance it?

See what I mean why bother for $20.00.
You can do more damage than $20.00 if you get it wrong, I have seen what happens when it goes wrong.

Rad Hard Chroming.
It is a hard chroming business up here in Brisbane.
For $320.00 they straighten and chrome your tubes.
Walter at YSS does the same job if you are down south.
