Get that dope off that Maico!
I never get why guys on 4 strokes rev the tits out of their bikes. What are they clearing out? It would sit and idle all day. Same with the moderns on the limiter at the start line.....dadadadadadadada, dadadadadadadada  ::)

One of two things could have happened: the guy on the Maico was just giving the rider on the farm bike a false sense of security before it was roosted out the back of the Maico like a rabbit, or we couldn't see the flock of sheep up the track which needed herding. They don't look too bad in Canola yellow.
Cheers,
K

I have on more than one occasion holeshot a field of Open Evo bikes on my HL500, including one memorable day when I got them all, including Roy Gay. Forgetting the rest of the race and my progress to my proper place at the back of the pack, I can say this:

The HL gets what power it has to the ground very well and it would often be there first just because it is so easy to launch. However, after that the big 2-strokes eat it alive. I have opened it up out of big sweeper while right next to a 490 Maico and I was pulled by about 3 bike lengths in the first couple of seconds.

So the rest of that race in the clip would probably see the HL get beat, is my guess. Depends on the track and the rider too of course.

Here's proof that I actually did win the occasional start!

You guys down under have no understanding how this youtube clip can do irreperable damage in my country. We have our own local fourstroke fundi's that would relish at seeing this.
If Hitler was alive and well today, he would have had the Miaco "driver" shot dead on two consecutive days (just in case he did not die on the first shooting) based on the disgrace he inflicted on the GERMAN Ayrian technology.
I am truly embarassed

Too true given the Geoff welding it and me building it. you could paint the Sisteine Chapel faster.

Hey I heard you had to take the age of a Maico and multiply it by seven to get its age in human years  ;D ;D ;D

So lets get this straight then, the REAL HLs are the productionised NVT ones or the Protec ones or the one in Bengts garage.

Gee I don't know. Enough billet aluminium to build space shuttles, the mandatory ohlin fully adjustable shocks, 14 inch's of suspension, rims that would make a hooker blush. You know. All the stuff that they had on them in 1978.
To be fair though, guys do the same thing with their Maico's  :-\

can't remember who but someone in the US has started making plastic seatbases now.
