Found a 1974 Montesa Cota 247-T (Trail) in great shape.....I think. It is however missing the right engine case cover and kickstart, the rest of it is complete and I would give it a 8/10 after its been spit shined. I had driven by this customers yard always thinking it was a 78 Elsinore for 2 years,(as I could only see the knobbby tire and twin shock sticking out of a cover) well I finally had the balls to stop and ask. Well it turns out I was wrong.
I looked at it, saw it was a MONTESA, said thanks for letting me look, and goodbye. He said, "Wait! Don't you want to buy it?" I said know, I can't afford what its worth. He said, "Gove me $40 and its yours!"
I could not friggin believe it! Tell me I scored and awesome deal? I think I did! So I am going to pick it up in a few days, as its 120KM away.

Great find! I owned one of these and used it for competition after swapping the seat/tank to the Cota style. You could also cut and re-glass the 'T' seat to the smaller style. It was an excellent ride and was in my experience a much nicer thing than the Jap models.

I just could not believe it wasn't seized from sitting for so long, the seat is nice, tires are great, but it needs new stickers on it, and its missing the exhaust silencer, right hand side engine cover and kick start, but other than that its complete!
