Title: YZ125 G / H parts wanted
Post by: Woody on August 13, 2009, 09:14:52 pm
I'm doing a resto on a YZ125G and on the lookout for the following parts;

- Exhaust with good header pipe

- Choke knob or old Mikuni carby to take one off
- Plastics
- service manual on CD
- chain guides

- others?

125H stuff
- carby

- Double leading front brake plate set up to suit 125H (45 deg)

- triples to suit 38mm forks

cheers
Woody

Hi Woody,

I have the Service manual for the YZ125G on CD. Please contact me and we'll get one out to you.

As for the pipe, good used ones are difficult to find. Most seem to look like yours or worse. That's why on my machine I used the retro rocket pipe with DG silencer. Otherwise I'd suggest that you keep an eye on E-bay and the swap meet pages. Over the years I have seen a couple of NOS exhaust systems.

Hi John,
I also use the retro rocket pipe. What size carb and jetting are you using?

I'd love to see a pic of your bike. Is this the same pipe set up that you guys have?

Yep, that is one nice bike alright. Just imagine how your 125G will look when you're done, Woody. Now, all you need is a 250G to keep it company, huh?

Sorry for the slow reply, my internet has been down for a week, but its up and running again.
Tony, I havnt worked much on the motor of the YZ125G (Jetting etc) but I couldnt get it to run smooth with the DG pipe, but then I didnt really try to hard either. The retro rocket pipe is about the same so I have to get out and jet the bike properly one day.

Tell me what brand are your plastics, Are they DC?

Did YZ John get back to you on the right jetting for your pipe? If not you could probably contact him on his email address (on the ProjectYZ site). Are you running the standard G carb or the 34mm H one?

cheers

The plastic's are NOS YZ125G
I was running a 34mm but have gone back to a 32mm, but I think I will go back to the 34mm.
