bit of a beast :)
-
I know the previous owner of it... 85 model i think. Used to be in good nick! He used to do viper
-
Love to add that to my 88 CR500 and IT 490 collection. Then all I'd need is a Suzi 500 to complete the Jap big bangers.
I'd make a bid but,monies are a bit tight.
I see someone has offered a buy it now price, offer.
Hope the seller tells him to root his boot.
Got 4 days of bidding left, who knows what price he'll get for it once word gets out.

A guess only
Base bike - 85/86 (Cant be less than 85 as the 83 & 84 are air cooled)
If he says that the plastics have been changed then they would be 87
Front Forks - 90/91 (From memory the blue forks were about this era)
Either way she is a bitsa that would need a lot of time and money spent if the ALL the old parts are not avaliable from the seller, specially if the buyer wanted to race it.

86 with 90 model forks.
-
'86 with '85 seat and '91 forks
-
Yep I agree, its an 86 with an 85 seat and 90/91 forks. I have a sweet 86 model
-
I agree a bit of a bitsu. I thought 86/87 base bike with say a 90/91 front end. I guess ok if you don't mind that sought of thing, personally I don't. don't know how he thought it was an 83 model, very different animal.

Is this the same beast back on ebay?
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270472915632&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT
It has an 85 motor with boost bottle removed, 86 swing-arm and 90'ish forks. Also looks to have a 19 inch rear wheel?
-
Looks like the same bike with the frame painted and a few other new bits.
-
both diff bikes both 86 models
with 93 complete front ends
second one looks good
these are pre powervalve monsters
go great normally have a boost bottle(lozza must have taken it off) ;D
and i am not saying they are good cause i have one ;)
-
I reckon they're the same bike. Both ads have spare big tank and talk about 41 flatslide carby, same forks and the 2nd ad has duct tape over the tears in the left side of the seat in the 1st ad.
-
john could be right just had another look
it has been prettied up to sell
still its on the money in that condition ;D
-
Could make a good thunderX bike :)
-
It looks to have an 85 motor in it - The 86 has two power valves and I cant see any power valve cover behind that water pump hose, plus it has the disconnected boost bottle which the 86 does not have. Getting to the air and idle screws on the carb would be an interesting task
