I am looking for a genuine rear silencer for the 1984 kx500 (any condition) .many thanks

Absolutely, Positively & Un-Conditionally - Rocking Hose Shit.
Last one on e-bay went for $350.00, and it needed work!!!
Any KX500 muffler (with small modifications) will fit. I have a 2008 Pro Circuit unit on mine.

Probably shouldn't have chopped up the 2nd one I had to fit to our KTM 390 then..... It does look & sound good on the bike though.
Cheers,
K

Try most Kawasaki dealers in the states, it's still available. Actually recently spoke to them and everysingle part for KX's from 1980 through is still available. I priced a new KX 500 frame and these were $972 US. I was amazed they had everything in the warehouse.

are you sure they are still available? it may be a different thing when you place an order though, then it comes back as NLA (no longer available)

Gotta go with Hoony on this one.
If Nightmare can't get stuff, then i struggle to see how someone from Australia could get their hands on any NOS.
More than once bitten with people telling me they have stuff only to be told (after money has been paid) that they actually checked the parts bin and they dont have it.

went into peter steven ftg and the guy said they had heaps of nos stuff for kx 500, NOT MY THING SO I DIDNT ASK WHAT THOUGH ::)

yes that always happens with suzuki parts to. YES the dealers computer says its available and even the warehouse in Melbourne says its avaialble, but its wise not to get too excited. First you get a call saying its on back order from japan and then after 3 weeks wait you get another call 'sorry part is NLA and japan doesnt have it either' Its seems that suzuki Australias parts availbility database is well behind what is actual current stock and available from japan. these days i dont get my hopes up until ive heard from Japan thats its actually available and dont trust what suzuki australia say is available until they have actually tryed to get it from Japan.
Bike bandit in USA are a bit like that too. they (their website) will tell you they have goodies like NOS 84 KX500 tanks, you go to order, they take your money and then they tell you after 'sorry part is NLA' ::)

And then they took more than a week to give my money back................. >:(
And only then after a lot of hassling them. ::)

I rang the dealer yesterday and he is going to get back to me with the warehouse number so I can go directly to the source. I asked if they will send international and they said no. I would have to order through another mob (middle man). Don't have any problems with big stuff as I can use the same guy that brought my car over last year. But the guy reassured me that if it's on the computer it's generally instock.
