Im looking for a complete or 3/4 complete YZ490 engine (later version) what is the going price for one of these?

1987. Earlier models were going to be no good due to different head stud pattern. I just bought a complete 88 model minus electrics which dont really need anyway, from a low hour bike and on STD bore. Pretty expensive but original bore cylinders are pretty rare these days and i know they are sought after motors in VMX community so i just had to jump in and buy it.

there,s only one pre 85 490 centerport cylinder , so their fairly rare , and the tranny up to 87, of coarse there,s always that pre 90 thing , what were u looking to do ?

their around , seems like the get into the hands of the paddock basher type , where they get flogged until the bearings fall out and the engines stop from sucking in unfiltered air , or handed over to a willing mate who ground loops and smashes the subframe , i saw an s the other day , it had the tecnosel seat and big tank , i don,t think it has a bright future
