g day all just wondering if someone could give me an idear on why my 82 rm250 won't start off the kick starter when its hot. when its cold its starts easy and runs perfect. but when its hot i have to push start it . its got the standard carb on it with 300 main & 60 pilot
thanks cheers :)

float level too high?,symptoms sounds tad rich, usually helps cold starts, but too "fuelly" when hot,try lean out the idle mixture air/fuel screw?,hth :P

how worn is it ?

the motor is good it was rebuilt not long before i bought the bike. could it be the low speed stator coil or the plug coil. how do i measure where the float level has to be

this would be handy. it will tell you the float level and how to measure it ;)

check the readings out of the stator
sounds like it could be a low speed coil
common on this model ;)
