Title: YZ 250 G Front brake question.
Post by: Billet YZ on June 24, 2009, 09:10:08 pm
Hi all,
the question i have is which twin leading shoe front brake assembly will fit straight onto the standard yz 250 g forks ??. I have a couple of twin shoe assemblys but the mounting lug is at 90 degrees to the fork, where as the 250 g has the lug at 45 degrees to the fork.

Any help much appreciated as i would dearly love to get this thing to stop properly, i have had the standard shoes re-bonded with new material and i then machined them to suit the brake drum but they are nothing to brag about. I`m enjoying racing this thing but some good front brakes would help.

YZ465G or H, YZ250H, and YZ125L, all have the angled lug + TLS.

Thanks Nathan,
i have taken the one off the yz 465 h that i have but am now thinking the front end might be off a k model as the rim is gold and more of a flat section, this is one of the TLS assemblys i have with the lug at 90 degrees to the fork.

J or K sounds likely.

Have a look at the date stamped in the rim.The date will be sometime in the second half of the previous year.
