Why is my 77 RM370 exhaust flange 23mm on the inside when the exhaust is 44mm ??? does not look right to me. The bike came from the usa and looked to have been trailriden only. ???

That is a restrictor ring in the exhaust flange, it's designed to restrict power but more importantly NOISE. Suzuki fitted a range of their 125's, to keep under the 12bhp limit in the U.K, with those "washers" making them very easy to derestrict.
