Hi all,

Entries have been flooding into the Maico head quarters, looks like being a big one at the famous Wonthaggi MX Circuit. Mr Maico has been perfecting his Mega 2 pancakes & Maple Syrup in the workshop, anyone up early on Sunday morning whose up to it, the AW replica BBQ will be hot an running  ;D ;D ;D

Also, the old boys bought a Plasma with a built in DVD player, so anyone with their favorite MX dvd's or whatever, bring them down. Mr Maico's favorite AC/DC DVD will be 1st in. Lets have a big weekend, we'll be bringing some firewood.

Heard Perko will be having a crack at the record on Sat night   :D :D

Thanks Mr Maico #54

The Viper Committee advises thet round 5 at Wonthaggi has been postponed till the 12th July.
Unfortunatly the track is under water and we have to change date.
We have no other options avalible we know that this will be a pain to some people but we want to get the round in
and not cancel it outright.

Too Bad , but at least the longterm forecast is looking good for the end of next week.
The track should be brilliant after this rain and then a few sunnydays.

Hi guys, having my first VMX race this weekend at Wonthaggi and really looking forward to it.
Any advice for a first timer?? What's involved in scrutineering, just a quick check over the bike and helmet?

Did U hear that 440??? Fresh fish, fresh fish..... hey force, good luck on the weekend. Advice??Keep clear of number 1 he has trouble dodging people ;)..... U should be right with scrutineering they're no nazis & happy to help get your bike sorted if it somehow (i don't know how) fails to make it through... have fun :D

Might be a good idea to take care of the obvious things: no loose spokes, throttle returns ok, handlebar ends plugged, lever ends aren't snapped off, footrests in good shape, etc.

I was actually pulled up by an official at Wonthaggi last year for wearing a jersey with 3/4 length sleeves (my ignorance), so make sure your gear at least looks respectable.

Have heaps of fun (you will), and if (when) you're passing me, go easy on the roost!

roll up to the track (just under 1 hr from dandenong) with plenty of time to spare. relax it will be a fun day. scrutineering is casual, so don't worry. make sure your bars are plugged at the ends, spokes are tight and wheel bearings good. walk around and chat to people where you pit and ask questions if you are unsure of format. print out the race format from the VIPERMX.com or email viper and stick it to you car window and high light your races. if you are worried about the start gate let them all go and take off a second later and enjoy the ride till you get your confidence.

VIPER are a great bunch of people you will have a ball, trust me.

Hi all,

What a great day it was today with a good turnout. The track, although looking a little wet upon arrival, the sun shined, the wind blew & the track dried out nicely. Some great racing prevailed. Congrats to the winners & placegetters. Poor Andy Marshall took a decent tumble, not needed after his return to the track after his last shoulder incident, but he is ok.
Thanks to the Dandy Club for their efforts.

Thanks also to Macca for the commentary. He really adds a bit to the atmosphere.
It was good too see all the crew again - 2 months since Ravo - a bit too long.
I reckon its been a cracker of a year so far, can't wait for Barrabool and Monza. :)

We really enjoy the Viper & the Classic crew, no drama's at all & happy to lend the Maico's to those competing at the upcoming Nationals in Conondale, just make sure you bring back the Gold ;D ;D ;D ;D

that guy on the husky 4t was smooth and fast, was a pleasure to watch him glide on by like he was on rails.... :-[

That guy was Mikael Amberntsson, son of Kel .Kel has been around for ever but moved back to Sweden a few years ago.He actually represented Sweden in the Classic MXdN's.
They recently came back to OZ (last year) and Kel started back racing his Monark in VCM events.
Mikeal also rode some VCM's on his 510 Husky .I think Wonthaggi was his first VIPER mett though.
Looks like he has the OldMamsjeans , I mean genes.Checking through the results he rode 4 class's on that thing(must be fit) EVO 4 stk, EVO Expert, EVO over 300 and PRE 85 over 300.He collected two class wins and two second places.
No noise's afterwards except applause at presentation.

Welcome back Kel and Mikael great to see you joining in the fun again  :)
