I have had a brief look at this bike but have not seen it run. It appears complete and was used a few years ago in Heaven VMX according to the owner. The plastics have been painted and shocks appear not so good. The owner is a long term Montesa rider and recently sold a VR250 (Not the one Ross recently scored). It would require some work to make it presentable and there are no lights etc as far as I know. Possibly a little over priced.

Possibly a little over priced.
Just looking at the pixies, that was my conclusion ;). The shocks are original I think and would be good to have for 'display purposes only'. If you were gonna ride it you would be talking to Walter ;). Not tht I'm in the market anyway ::) :P.

I have the orginal shocks I was going to rebuild them as i think they would look good with the cansters hanging off the back of the bike!!!
-
Tom, I looked into rebuilding the Corsa shocks on the VF250 but the price started approaching $500-600 and I still had 25yr old shock technology. They were deemed not rebuildable during the '80s and current companies have to modify the body to fit modern seals. I agree they would look great on the bike. YSS can make the shocks with remote reservors.
The H6 has Betors I think which are rebuildable but not worth it as they basically held the guard off the wheel when new how they are still on the bike heaven knows. Maybe they were fitted when the bike was in VMX a few years ago. They are still available from Spain.

you can fit the latest Ohlins internals in corte & cossos
http://ozvmx.com/community/index.php?topic=549.0
i know someone who is getting this done on his corte & cossos for a SWM by Frank Pons as they didnt survive the 3 bridges vinduro very well.
I think this is the Betor site

I got a good pair of shocks on my bike rated for me for 220dollars the pair and I very happy with the result. There was no offset problem, they are very well finshed, they look good and fitted straight up with no problems, correct length and custom rated springs to my weight. They are quite good on the ruts and large bumps to boot. I have had someone tell me who has many years of experince he used them instead of his 400-600dollar shocks and reckon they were better. At 180 you should give them a go.
I also was quoted 400-500 Bucks to rebuild I think it would be worth it for looks and also orginal purporses. I will get it done soon. Anything is rebuild able anything it is just up to how much effort you want to put in.

Nutz, what brand are you referring to?
-
also, is that US or AUS dollars?
-
Aus. 220 a pair, the brand I am not sure of because they were custom made length and rated, have a look at my rear ones in the pics I posted. I got told they were heaps better than most the other 400-500dollar ones on the market, And the bike handles really well with them on!!!
So if anyone wants a pair to try let me know!!!

so they are no brand name ??? what country are they made in?
where are the photos of your bike with them fitted?
thanks
-
I think they are made in Japan, here is a pic of my 220dollars shocks
as this thread is useless without photo's it is also a twin springs on each shock.
Tell me what you think!!
-
Not fitted properly but a better photo of the shocks
-
ok they look a lot like these
http://www.cykel.com.au/documents/Shockers09.pdf
http://www.proaccessories.com.au/products/pro_hard_parts/shock_absorbers.htm
They are only cheap, non rebuildable shocks made in Taiwan. i have a set on my TS250 but they have yellow springs and i will take them off when i finsih off my Fox shocks.
The ones you have might be different though as you said they were specially made for you?
-
Now you got me thinking, It does look like them. I think they do the job quiet well and was presently suprised when I road it, for the price I am not saying it is the b all and all but bang for your buck they aren't bad. I think I will end up rebuilding the corte cosso's and sticking them on, or getting some made with the cansters by YSS.
How do you find yours on the bike you have them fitted to?

i havent even used them, but i dont expect them to perform as well as a gas shock. I only bought them because i thought Ohlins were way out of my price range and at the time i couldnt find anyone selling shocks that were 406mm long other than the cheapies, but i didnt realise then how you can buy good used sets and do them up and i know a lot more now than i did then. I ended up getting some Fox gas shocks that are going to be like new and i will fit them to replace the cheapies.
