Last year twist and shout had an excellent idea of doing name badges that I thought was excellent as you could pick people out in the crowd that otherwise you would not know.
I think many of us stumbled accross each other in the crowd.
Is there a plan to do this again ??
-
I'm not, in case someone walks up and belts me one for my past recalcitrant behaviour
-
I think you are in deep doo doo anyway Magoo as a lot of people on here already know what you look like ;).
Apart from that you could always explain that you were "baited" into making all those dodgy comments ;D
-
:D to quote a famous line from a famous movie.. 'We KNOW Who You Are and We KNOW Where You Live!' I'll live up to my tinarse rep and recycle mine from last year BUT only if I spot at least 6 others forum members doing likewise ;D ;D
-

Bugger Magoo....that's my excuse!
-
Hmm. Not sure I want one that calls me: "That racist bastard from Souf Efrica" ;D
-
You don't HAVE to have that if you don't want ;D ;D. You can have ToofastTim if you want ;)
-
;D im in i would like to catch up with you guys and put a name to the faces im having trouble culling which bikes to bring i would love a enduro to come but a moto x er will have to stay at home boo hoo :'( the xr or the kdx hmmm?????????
-
Go the Green ;)
From memory we thought it was a good idea to muster somewhere for a beer as well at a certain time. Any thoughts or should I just give up

I guess it's getting a bit late to organise it centrally, but I will definitely wear a name tag as will young TwistandShout, so if anyone else wants to I say go for it. It does help put names to faces etc.
-
I'm not a big forum user and don't expect anyone wanting to rush up and intro themselves to me, but I must admit it would be handy and helpful if forum members had a name tag of sorts. Sort of helps 'break the ice' so to speak if you saw a 'tag name' you recognised.
-
but I will definitely wear a name tag as will young
You're going as Will Young? Count me out.
BTW, don't worry about me. I'll bring my own nametag. I got it before they fired me from MacD's.
-
I just conjured up this vision whilst gazing into my bowl of CocoPops Tim ;D
-
Its a good idea, and I'm up for it again.
I think my CD5 tag got lost in one of Anna's many Great Ute Clean Outs since CD5.
Also bike numbers help figure out who people are - both of mine will have #818 on them.
-
I liked the name tags too as it helped who to stay away from ;) ;D ;D count me in, it was a great idea last year so Im all for it again this year.
-
I'll have mine on!
-
Oldie still has his from last year bike # 90

I too reckon it's a great idea, especially when most of us are slow learners. Old Mate!
Names for sure and numbers to.
As for a meeting point (Bar), Firko's mechanical hangover maker location would be a reasonable point to start. Remember to bring fuel to add to the cocktails. Only Hi Octane stuff, none of the unleaded stuff either!
[Mental Note - make sure we camp some distance away from the Cocktail Maker and the cocktail maker]
-
yep! mines been stuck to my fridge the whole time in waiting. 8)
will probably whack it on my hat ;)
i'm in and looking forward to catching up with a few new/old faces.
bikes #789
:)
-
hmmm :-\ no numbers for me..too easy! ;D
-
Hi
Forum Name tags , great idea , But only if they have our "daytime" names as well,
-
Felt pen to the forehead should do it for me ;D Written in the mirror of course!
-
Went for a look and found mine OK, so I'll definitely be labelled. And for the record, I'm on the #136 RM125M. No using me for traction when you ride by. In fact, seeing as how I put in all this time and effort to keep the site and forum going, I am expecting a healthy level of 'respect' on the track. That means that even if you are real fast and ride a CR500, you make room in the corners so I can slice through underneath, thereby encouraging the thousands of spectators to ooh and ahh and point their fingers and whisper amongst themselves at the sheer amazingness of the guy on the old RM...
-
Just done a name badge.
If I get on the track I'll be on the #E15 SWM or my brothers TS185 no numbers but it has a cut up toilet seat for a number plate :D

Can do !
I still have the file on my computer and can easily reprint the stickers from last year. I'll also grab the list of new members who joined in the last 12 months and do one for the people who have posted at least a few times. Anyone who joined in the last year and hasn't posted on the forum can use texta.
Cheers, Tim
-
There could be a few guys that could wear more than one name-tag ;) .
-
I still have the albel blanks left over from last year, so if you want to display your name proudly, just stop by VMX Central and write your name on one. ;)
-
You are a legend Maicopunk. I was going to volunteer to do it, but if you still have the names and stuff then great. I can still do it if you want. Maybe Graeme can send the entire list of members to make it easier. Do a amil merge in word and off we go.
Let me know if you want me to do anything.
-
I will have mine on my seat cover!!! Ha Ha
-
Dont forget mine coz i'm on the way Yeehah.
-
Hey Tim, that'd be great if you could do that. Do you need anything from me to help out?
-
Happy to do the lot if you want, just let us know.
Looking forward to seeing you again Hilly. Well done on making it mate - I know you have pulled out all stops.
-
No problemo. It's almost all set up to print them off at work next week.
Can you believe this forum now has 993 members? Amazing!
So, rather than do all 993 stickers how about I do one for everyone who has posted more than 10 times plus a heap of blank ones can be written in texta?
They will be the same as last year with OzVMX in green and gold and the name underneath in black.
-
Flights booked i'm landing in Brisvegas friday morning ,rental car and leaving monday night and i think my bike has got a ride too.
-
Bringing your riding gear, Hilly?
Not going to do what Barsby did last year, and be stuck kicking at the dirt while person after person offers you a ride on their bike...
-
yeah i will have my gear and hopefully my bike too.
-
Yep, that sounds like a plan Maicopunk. Maybe add in anyone who's joined in the past month or so even if they haven't got 10 posts up? Still a lot to print off tho!
-
Maicopunk, perfect stuff champ! last year was good so thanks in advance from me mate.
and Hilly, bloody ripper dude! if your bike don't make it, i should have something you can ride a few laps on. will have a bit of extra camping gear if your stuck too.
not long to go now folks!
-
Plenty of bikes to ride in the Kompound Hilly.....if you don't mind going over to the dark side with a red ;D

Yeah, that sucked (not really - I still had a ball and had heaps of time for taking crappy video and out of focus photos and drinking too many beers ;D)
Anyway this time I will be one of the ones offering rides. What a difference 12 months makes ;)
-
Thats a great idea Jikov.
-
Thanks to Bahnsy my YZ is makin the trip and i would be up for a ride on just about anything thanks for the offers boys see ya all there .
-
The last two weeks have seen me moving to our own gods lil 1/4 acre not 30 mins from connondale.

Just kidding boys , all welcome in our little rainforest paradise in the foothills of the blackalls range .(yerp the east side of connondale)

-
Were will I get my name tag from when I get there??? Or do I just make my own?? Darcy (dkupf)
-
Darcy,
last year, we just rolled up to VMX central where this really ugly guy called Ajay was hangin out and he had them there.
VMX central is obviously the magazine headquarters at the event.
or you can make your own. last year was funny as i stuck mine on my shirt, but then i'd throw a jumper on over the top and forget about it or whack on a different shirt etc, maybe 3 name tags would be the go...
keep your eyes open and you'll find your way. :)
-
Hi Darcy, Last year I just gave them to Ajay and he had them at the sign on table. Will do the same again this time but I won't get there until Saturday morning.
They should be a bit easier to sort out this time because they are in alphabetical order instead of number of posts.
There are about 410 with names on and 100 blank ones.
-
Ok Thanks for that. I think it's a great idea. Darcy
