Bad luck about Nepean. What's the score with the tracks 50th Anniversary meeting in August? I've been told that there won't be any vintage involvement....surely my informer was mistaken!
-
g'day mark. as i understand it the 2day pre 75 meeting will be held as in recent times with the 25 lapper on the saturday 1st august, and pre 75 categories on sunday. at the end of august the nsw short circuit i mean dirt track event will be held commemorating 50 years of nepean.[sorry about the time warp]. the pre-seventy 2day event will support the Nepean Youth Accomodation Service support group as was last years event.... as i look out the window i see lots of sunlight but probably too late for nepean tomorrow.back to the plot it looks to me that the combination of the pre 75 in early august will encourage strong support from those riders who will also ride at the state title event at the end of the month on their moderns. the title event will be promoted by nepean.these dates can be confirmed by all on the nepeanraceway web site .cheers wally.....p.s the 2&3rd is a problem for me --wedding anniversary and wifes birthday!

Thanks Wally...I was worried that the 2 day vintage meeting had been dropped from the program. I'm considering entering for a bit of last place fun and as I haven't raced since 1999 and will be riding two new bikes that I've never raced before, I'm a tad nervy about the experience, even at this early stage!
I would have thought that the vintage meeting would have been a more apropriate event to celebrate the tracks 50th anniversary. I reckon a cavalcade of bikes and riders that have made the great old track what it is today would have better fitted the demographic rather than a modern event. Wouldn't it be simple to either celebrate the 50th anniversary over both meetings or to reverse the focus on the events and celebrate the 50th with the vintage meet. Whichever, I think there should be some nostalgia involvement in such an important milestone on a grand old track.

onya mark look forward to see you there [if i get leave], i thought the same as you about the 50th and the pre 75 but i'm inclined to agree with the organisers now that this might be the way to get maximum turnout from both sections of the sport and the crossovers that compete and also the likely spectators. i'm also thinking that riders interested in the nsw champs might like to drag out a pre 75 bike to the pre 75 event and get some early practice. cheers wally.

Just looking at Nepean website calender, how do you determine which events are VDT and not moderns or are they run together, please forgive my ignorance, I would like to get down for a ride in the not too distant future as never had a ride at nepean, is this also the home of the famous 25 lapper as well. :)

look at the st george or penrith race days.modern and classic on same day.best to bring 2 bikes otherwise you only get 2 rides per round.
125s in 125 race and 250
250 in 250 and unlim
251-500 in open and unlim
sliders have there own race as well
need to be a member of either club.
check st george web page for race details
cheers

Quasi Rosco, they usually, for club days run in seperate classes/sizes,keeping moderns apart ,juniors, sliders etc, works pretty well, you can ride up classes/ eras too, usual stuff?? ;D
bloody 2 quick Jim ;D ;D
-
actually Rosco ,how about headsup when the Hunter clubs are running their VDT days mate ;)
-
Hunter club does much same format, Do you know what a one day membership is cost for penrith or st george, would they accept hunter club membership for a day, enter on day ok i would assume, would the OSSA make it around for a full lap mick :D
actually Rosco ,how about headsup when the Hunter clubs are running their VDT days mate ;)
Can do that Mick, we seem to be getting few more regular riders in early stuff so would be good to get a few more, i will post up next DT day.
Geometry is good between Newcastle and Sydney so travel is not an issue and I know Noels keen to come up and get the CZ cranking now hes got it over me :D
Heres our club calender

We have a couple of rounds before the Nats in september as well so you could always come up for a trial run and get the upper edge
-
better off joining Penrith,it's only $15 for the whole year!!,as it's a interclub meeting invite between St George/Penrith it's good value mate!!,enter on day,or pre enter e mails the go ,(saves standing in the que),day licences are $60ish,(if not in the 2 clubs), ;)
-
AND... penrith club does a pensioner discount also a concessional family rate. the 25 lap event is only held on the saturday afternoon of the pre75 two day event.come on down! cheers wally.

Hey Jim, I will see you at Nepean
I am bringing 2 x bikes and only wish to enter 2 x events can someone recomend what i should do?
YZ125E Should it run in 125 Classic and ride up 250 classic?
and use the RM125S as a spare bike
or Should I run
RM125S to run in 125 Classic
and the YZ 125E in modern 125 or up 250 classic
