Title: Alloy tanks.
Post by: Quicksilver on October 08, 2007, 07:11:54 am
I have heard it mentioned and read somewhere that alloy tanks can be straightened and re polished. I am hoping with a number of vintage bikes running with alloy tanks a repair service exists somewhere in Aussie.
Hows it done? Who is Aussie does it? Have you had a tank repaired and were you pleased with the result?

Any advise on the subject.  :)

Send them to Geoff Morris (GMC), he has done a few Elsinore tanks for me, a couple which I had given up on. Absolutely fantastic job. You won't believe it's the same tank when you get it back.
Cheers,
K
