I don't know about the rest of you but any spare time for me of late is pretty much spent trying to get my shite together for CD6. Found out today the engine in 1 bike I was taking was not as I remembered and quite probably in need of a top end rebuild. Rather than risk disappointment I decided to swap a few engines around settling on a not quite so flogged out unit, and then the wheels, and airboxes and phark!! Finally! I think I'm heading in the right direction ever so slowly but just cusrious (and curious also..dang typo's) as to what others will be taking. For me it'll be the TM125, the RL250, the TS125MX and ye ol' favorite the '78 RM400. Looks like I'll have to empty the trailer this month sometime ::) :)
-
I'll be bringing the 75 RM125M and maybe an 80 IT175G. The IT is almost ready to go so there's a good chance it'll come along. The RM is all fresh and cleaned - I haven't done much riding this year so plenty of time to give her a decent clean and going over. Really looking forward to finally getting out and having a decent ride on it!
-
KDX200B1, and either the DT1 or (hopefully) the AT1.
The promise of special tracks for Enduro bikes and pre-70 bikes means that I've gotta take one of each!
-
It looks like I am taking my garage queen Cooper MX250, XR75 K1, a K1 pit bike, something to ride on the track undecided (Cooper, Yamaha, Suzuki???????) also got to start assembly next week on a YZ80B fitted with some trick parts and YZA paint job, have run out of time to have my DG MONO SHOCK XR75 K1 finished, a couple of mates will be taking a collection of Decksons, XR's, CR's and XT. ;D
-
Honda's

well i can relate to your lack of time Doc as i'm in a mad rush to get my RT1 back together and the clocks ticking. hopefully, i'll have 3, the RT1, MX250a, MX125a and my trusty little "scooter" staff car ;D
well i guess that makes 4...
in kawasaki colours with "bling"... :)
-
As well as the time problem bought on by some family illness dramas, I've also been set back by the late delivery, piss poor quality and wrong parts from Simon Cheney in the UK which has forced me to drop my Cheney Yamaha from the CD6 program. Wheras I took four bikes to CD5, I'll limit it to two this year, my Boyd and Stellings Suzuki TM400 and Maico 250 trials bike. I'm also bringing a petrol blender for the Margaritas and a basket case CZ250 for Ji Gantor.
-
One of the many auto's on their way to CD-6
-
Oh yeah, and I may do an Enduro loop on one of Shoeys Autos if he sees fit to invite me ;D. I just love those Husky Autos!
-
With a bit of luck both blenders will be back (with ice this time!) plus the Klub Kevlar Bling Award will be again be presented. Last years winner, Husky Pete (Husky 67)has laid down the challenge that he's up to win it again with his newly restored Husky 500 Silver Bullet. It's a pity my Cheney won't be finished on time, that superbly crafted and iconic trophy would have looked good in the Casa del Firko pool room!

Vandy I've had all year but it always comes down to the last..why and how I do not know ::)
I must have a good optic at the Hagon framed Jawa, it's a beaut! 8)
Ironically enough I do have a few decent blender motors in excess to my needs, maybe a plan in the making :P
Burnt the midnight oil last night (didn't like the cd anyway!) but hopefully near completed the TS. I've always said the converted trailies can cut it :P this is about the best offering I can build with what I have :) I know pics of the bike have been splashed around but this is the final deal ;) Need to fit the new front tyre and give it a test run Saturday 'hopefully', settled for the 'big' wheel setup since it's worked well previously and small wheels have always hurt me in the past ::)
-
Hey Guys,
On a slightly different tack. I.e. What am I bringing home from CD6?
I was going to be driving to CD6, but a late minute change of plan has the VMX crew travelling together [sounds like team bonding to me] so I won't be able to pickup a bike that Brad van Barello has sitting in the back of his shed for me.
Will anybody have room for another bike on the return trip from CD6 to Sydney? Happy to assist with petrol money.
Thanks in advance for your help.
You can contact me on 02 9875 1033 or email: [email protected]
Thanks in advance

I will be taking a hoard as i did last year. Between my own and the Kiwi contingent there will be plenty to ride.
-
Speaking of Kiwis....Is anyone taking a TV set so our Kiwi friends TM Bill, DJ and Komrade Jolley can watch their precious All Blacks cop a flogging from our beloved Wallabies in the first Bledisloe Cup test on Saturday evening?
-
I sense this threat deteriorating but ya get that :D
on another completely different note, I been out trying to fine tune the bike and I just noticed something..it doesn't have a mixture screw or even a spot where one might be! :-\ the RM80Z carbs' like that so I assume it just means you hold it flat out everywhere :P serves me right for buying a carb from Cannuckland..has to be from a bloody sledneck snowmobile I'd reckon ::)
-
Im bringing my boots, hope to scrounge a ride off Bill and Brad ( typical scrounging Kiwi ;D)Absobloodylootly cant wait!! By the way Doc my 250 Z?D carb is the same.

All Blacks cop a flogging ;D ;D ;D ;D that would be like saying Margaritas dont need ice ;)
-
The above TV request is a serious question Doc. Jolley emailed me to ask if we were going to a pub to watch the game. We ain't going anywhere this year so to ease his pain we can watch the test over a quiet drink at the track. You know what those Kiwis and their All Blacks are like. ;D
-
1000cc wasp of course +tt500 isnt watching rah rahs a waste of time?
-
How big is your tent going to be Firko?
World famous Chilli, plus Margarita's, plus Rugby on the tv? you might have to charge admission!
-
Hey Mainline
Our Marquee will be right next to Firko's (marks) and they are both 12m * 6m. generator power on , lights on, Margariters on, kozels on, BBQ on ,Game on .Hope we can kick the Kiwi's like old beer cans .

No you're bloody not...you're going to watch the band. >:(

And don't forget the topless Kevlar Girls, spa pool and the History of Maico guided tour.

With Shoey and Petes Camp Husky ,YSS and Klub Kevlar all in a row it looks like that little stretch of road might just be party central. 8)
There should be some interesting bikes as well as the usual sideshow stuff this year. I've just been told that Frank Stanborough's again bringing his Manx Norton Metisse due to his new NSU SportMax powered Greeves not being finished in time. Even if you aren't a fan of pre 65 bikes, it's still worth having a look at this piece of engineering excellence. The Manx Norton engine alone is a work of art. Due to trailer space constraints, Jonesy's leaving his sweet little purple SL125 Metisse Ugly Betty at home and instead is bringing his rare and seldom seen ex Scaysbrook Cheney G85 Matchless as well as his new Weslake MK4 Metisse and of course Black Betty . Oldschool is bringing his 490 Maico and our Yamaha 125MX council cleanup bike. Dave Tanner will have the RH74,the(thankfully for us, unsold)RN74 Suzuki, his lovely old ex Roy East AJS and a swag of Kawasakis. Because of the economy and distance a couple of the Kevlars can't make it this year but Chippys collection will take up the spaces where their bikes were last year. His list includes a sweet Yammy YZ360b, 125 Maico, a new, unridden curent model 500 Maico and all sorts of Maicos in between.
This year in the Kompound there'll be plenty of ice for the Margaritas, shitloads of Kozel Lager, some lovely early 80's Coonawarra reds, a fine selection of exotic cheeses and pates to match the wines, the worlds best Chili Con Carne, gourmet snags and kebabs and shitloads more. We've even got our own Porta Loo.
I hope all of you forum regulars can drop in for a soothing Kozel and some first division bench racing. We're really looking forward to this so BRING IT ON ;D

too depressing reading that lot :'( :'( :'( :'(
BRING ON AUGUST
-
I'm not sure that we should allow you guys to camp so close together.
You could argue that keeping all the crusty old VMX yahoos in one place makes it easy to keep an eye on you. Or you could argue that you should be separated for the good of all the other attendees? Then again we could just put a fence around you and charge the kiddies for a look? I'll will work on the appropriate signage.
Then again, I suppose it will be OK, so long as Magoo is kept well away… and those damn Kiwis… and Brad… and the Band… Ahhhh man this is goin' to be hard work!!!
And you wonder why the wives don't understand. Can't wait!!!!

The MX250B for Steve Gall is ready - rang steve the other day as I just wanted to touch base on the subject of the ride - we discussed the look of the bike, Stephen wants it to be as close to the ADB #1 shot as possible and has most of the gear he rode with back then. So we discussed the rectangular front number plate and where to get one. He put down the phone went to a shelf and pulled one out of his bits; an original the same as the one he had on the MX250B that day- brand new, not to be completely outdone he even had numbers (55) that he had cut from contact in about 1975 still in a file ready for use as well as the mountings.
The guy is the king of horders! Thankfully!!!
He is also the king of detail

Firko , which night is the Chilly night ?
I'm easy Walter, but Saturday night is probably the easiest. If anyone else wants to enter the Second Annual Classic Dirt Chili Cookoff, feel free to bring along your concoctions. Last year we had four entries and every one of them was totally different. I reckon I won but I was reminded the next day by Ross Martin and Walter that they'd won. I'll have to throw a few more beers at the judges this year. Anyone dropping by the Kompound on Saturday night is welcome to a cup of chili. We're also stopping at the Ballina fish co-op on the way up to pick up some fish and prawns for the BBQ. ;D ;D
For the rum conosieur, Mai Tais have been added to the cocktail menu and banana Daquiris will probably be added later this week, especially for the ladies. Peter Rowland emailed me this morning to let me know that he's created a new blender especially for this event. After the Maico and Jawa efforts from previous years, who knows what this one will be!
Hey Dave, is Gally parking his YZa and MXb in the Kompound with us? They'd fit in nicely next to Chippys YZ360B ;)

This is obviously the absolute minimum dress standard for CD6 kindly modeled by the guest of honor, Anthony 'The Grunt' Gunter ;D bike pant leg clips must be worn when on the course proper. Bright yellow duct tape can be used as a substitute for those whom are forgetful ;)

I've been watching the radar maps... ;)
Looks like Conondale has missed the big wet (so far). ::)

On a side note to CD6, with the Kiwi's that will be staying at my place on thursday night, im having a barbie and anyone coming up is welcome. I have plenty of room to sleep the night although it will be warm and dry, it might mean pulling out your sleeping bag and sleeping on the floor. I am on acreage so plenty of room for cars, trucks , trailers.
This extends to any locals too. If you dont know anyone such as myself, dont let that stop you! Again, all welcome.( Suzuki attire will not be permitted!!) ;D
Cheers, Brad.
