Those front plates were the worst design and butt ugly. The majority were thrown in the bin. The trail ridden ones tended to leave them on, but a serious racer would Frisbee it straight up. Now if you can find one it will cost you your left nut and first born. I gave up on a nice second hand one when it went over $300 US. I still think the 81's are cool bikes , even if only to look at. I have a 450 that will be restored one day.

Don't know why, but I really like these too.
Is that yours Marc?
Looks very original. ;D

no unfortunately not mine but would like one....front number plate was way cool.

I heard the front number plate was for the helicopter TV coverage.

-

What's with the funky white shit on the tanks of the 125 and 250... ???
-
They where covers made up he told me they where honda parts but I,ve never seen them listed anyplace for any 81 models I think the tanks where not flash and he put them on to try and make them look better they didnt look flash in my opinion. They are robins bikes never to be ridden he didnt even like sitting on them.

Yes they are Robin Gregory's bikes and no he did not ride them, they have never seen any track time and never will apparently.
