Josh "Lizard" Coppins

You are correct Geraldo and Ron Leichen was Machine Leichen from memory ;) You have won a brand spanking new old stock Vintage Honda Mudflap that can be collected at CD6 ;D

Captain Cobalt - Jimmy Ellis

the GOAT nick name really gets to me , how can he go down as the greatest of all time , RC might be one of the fastest riders in history but he never won a world championship ?!?!?! yeah he probably would have if he had tried but HE DIDN'T
-
I think Carmichael could've easily won a world title if he wanted.. But the US pays more money, has better competition and an easier lifestyle. The World Champ doesn't hold the same status as the AMA champ these days.

after the list of older names I think was the order of the day ;) those blokes like Bubba, RC and Goat are only wee nippers in the world of vmx, albeit fery vast nippers that would whip any old ass that was silly enough to go near them :D
-
Johnny O, what about your name sake.......Johnny "O'Show" O'Mara.
Lechien also went by "Dogger"
Damon "The Beast from the East" Bradshaw.
-
geraldo, yes. My bad... Beer + Internet = looking stupid.... :D :-[

-
Gerrit Wolsink (aka "the flying dentist"). got that off the WP site
-
Steven "Cods" Gall
Alan "Freddie" Jones
Arthur "Neddy" Smith.
-
Hey Nath, I don't need the internet to look stupid. It's a natural skill I was born with.
-
another from a more modern era I know, but "Sick" Mick Cook was at the QVMX meet at Coles Ck today and ran away with every race I saw him in despite being on a fairly battered looking TT250
-
The original "Goat"

'Super Swede' Pelle Granquist rings bells and so does 'Shotgun' Darryl Willoughby.

I read somewhere once that even in his own family, NOBODY except his mother ever referred to him as Todd. Business, racing, everything.
-
so does 'Shotgun' DShotgun" Darryl Willoughby.
speeaking of him and the others, time of year again for the 09 caldicott display, this year at the MX round ( be interested to see if any of the kids even get it or the bikes)
The 2009 Andy Caldecott Classic Memorial display will be held in conjunction with the 2009 Australian MX Championships to be held on June 14th, 2009, at Murray Bridge.
This National event has a huge following, and will expose our display on a National Level.
If anyone knows of anyone who has any late seventies/ early eighties MX bikes available to be used on the day, let me know.
Don Bowey, Neil Graetz and Steve Baker have again generously offered there bikes available. Thanks Boys…
At this early stage, I can confirm the following riders have been invited.
Stephen Gall, Rob Twyerould , Jeff Leisk
Anthony Gunter, Darryl Willoughby, Greg Toyama
Tony Cook, Andy Haydon, Steve Skilton
Don Bowey, David Footner, Alex Stra
Fran Petersen, Carl Fuller, Ray Robertson
-
Thanks Freaky.
Rob Twyerould was a young pup working for Brett Sawyer, when we where living up in Kalgoorlie. 8)

Was it Damon Bradshaw who had the nickname, "The Beast from the East"?
Someone might know for sure but was Pit Beirer the "Chainsaw"
-
Yes it was Bradshaw. I know Beirers german fans went nuts with chainsaws revving on the side of the track.
