Title: Ossa 250 phantom
Post by: Tim754 on October 04, 2007, 06:05:59 pm
My Sons have found a lot of an Ossa 250 . It appears to be a Blue Phantom (the tank says so !!) that some drongos have "roughly "tried to make into an Enduro,  does have matching engine and frame numbers.Hopefully Greame the Admin Man can post the four piccies of the little bike. It comes with a spare wheel and hopefully another engine is also coming. Tim.

[Here ya go - Admin]

Some of them were converted to Enduro bikes in the day. I think it was Mike Burrows that was doing this.
Mike was at the Vinduro & Drakie converted his Phantom to Enduro spec to replicate what Mike was doing.

Tim says that research reveals that it's an SDR (with a Phantom tank/seat).

I'm still interested, but as ever, suspect that I cannot afford. Tim was not drawn on a price: "It's my son's bike".

Nice find regardless.

Looks a lot like these (but for the colour and with the wrong shocks kicking it too high in the rear).

Try this. A mate of mine, Garry Hodge has one of these Desert Phantoms as well as a '74 Phantom he's owned since new. He's bringing them both to CD5 (http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-8/1062154/GCNPB-Ossa250Desert76f.jpg)

Well maybe yes, lead to believe the Super Pioneers did not change from 73 till 76, but this one has had the shock mounts moved. The standard mounts are still there so I am told. The shocks you see are original Betors.

Now in my shed. It also came with a SDR exhaust pipe that I was looking for for my other bike. :D
Sadly the bike is very rough and will have to wait till some other projects get done first.

yeah, I left the seat behind, got half way home and remembered not having put it in the car.  I'm trying to plan a trip back to Melbourne in the next few weeks.
Working on an Explorer at the moment so I might take the tank and seat to melb to get redone.
