Well just out of curiosity how many of you are there out there that cannot help themselves with VMX?
I just picked up 3 Yamaha YZ's parts machines, 1979 YZ125 and 79 YZ250 and one 1981 YZ250.....all are rough, one is complete but dissasembled, minus side panels. News in my small town travels at 10 times the speed of light! LOL It has been a week, and since then, the young guy I bought my RM400 off of, must have called 10 people! I picked up the YZ'S for free! lol! And a man stopped me today looking for a few parts to build mini choppers, we got talking, and well, I am getting 2 RM 250'S, both twin shock, for free! I can't say no to a $100 bike, and when it comes to a free one, I could almost call in sick to miss work and go pick them up.
I am officially addicted, here is the list of my bikes lol
1977 TS185
1979 YZ125
1979 YZ250
1981 YZ250
1980 RM400
1981 RM125
1983 XR200
1984 YZ250
1987 YZ250
Plus I have many more trail bikes, kawasaki 100's 90's 75's
I just can't help myself lol

Dear Hybrid,
I am so sorry to hear of your affliction and your recent bad luck. I have it on very good authority that the only known cure is complete and immediate removal of the irritants, and then complete isolation. To help you out in your plight, and at considerable inconvenience and cost to myself, I'll will offer to immediately stop what I am doing and make my way to your place of addiction with all available haste and means to remove these irritants and safely dispose of them.
Being so moved by your plight I will provide this service without cost or fees to your good self.
Your friend in need, yours sincerely, Graeme.

that's impressive

That's a great story... and I have a theory:
Every Town has someone (usually a woman) who takes care of abandoned cats or dogs or goats or whatever.
Word gets around and everyone knows her, "You've found a crippled Ibis? no worries mate, just take it to the Cat lady - she'll look after it!"
Well 80hybrid... that's you. The Cat lady of the old, the unwanted, the useless and broken stray dirt bikes.
More will come - lucky you. And it's a licence to be weird.
Be polite and thankful, but above all be weird! Coz Cat ladys are weird...

offer them a carton of beer or a bottle of spirts for the free bikes. its the least you can do and will probably help you get even more bikes. Many people would pay a lot of money to get some of those models you have got for next to nothing.

Yep, what he said. I scored an IT 250 for nuthin' - I had to insist he accept at least a carton of beer.
Anything less would be un-Australian. ;)
-
I would have given them a case of beer lol, but they are a very religious family, and they were just happy that someone could use what they did not want anymore
-
I have a couple of bibles I never use ;)

Maybe go to the pet shop and get something cheap for them to sacrifice- just a thought.
