no that says suzuki but it is yamaha gt80 but just the single stlye the one in the top link is what im after but i have an upholster and i have a double seat base now to work with :)
-
also can anyone tell me i am restoring a 74gt80a is the engine just the metal finish or sprayed silver
-
It's a GT80C the same as mine, crank cases bare, clutch / flywheel covers silver paint, GT1 prefix is 367 all GT80 used same prefix 374, I think GTMX80 used 367 prefix also, most US models used short seat, OZ model GT had long seat, MX had short seat, late model GT80's had different prefix also.
-
but frame prefix is same as mine and i know for a fact mine is 74 whats the go there dont doubt that it is gt80c tanks and even gt80c did sometimes have the double seat are all gt80's prefix 374
-
if you want to know what model you have for sure, just ring up a good yamaha dealer with the engine and frame number, they will tell you for sure, too easy ;)
-
i know what one i have 74 no questions im doing it up for original owner got photos of it from new never been anything changed if i was checking anyone i would be checking the one on ebay
-
sounds like a good little project 8) my first motor bike was a GT80 when i was 10 back in 82 paid $60 bucks for her :)had to mow yards to save the money I wish i still had it :'(

gt80's come in two variables because there is just gt80a then gt80mxa gt80c and gt80mxc which has small seat and most common i was just wondering why does my gt80a long seat type have same prefix as that ebay one because i know mine is a 74 model i have evidence to prove it this link off yamaha tells the two different models thats why the double seat is so rare i need a yamaha guru to tell me am i stupid thinking that that is not gt80c but in fact gt80a becuase i have got a gt80a in the shed with the same prefix that is all original every one at the moment is sort of right definetley c model tank and could be gt80c the prefix has me thinking as i have looked at prefixs for a while and i think that one is a gt80a with gt80c cosmetics either way it was a good buy i wonder who bought it thanks for the input guys does any one know if the prefix on gt80a and gt80c are the same as i think they are different thanks Michael. :)

-
yeah i found a fender, i bought a whole bike so have got a few bits. The bike is for the missus to crash around on and is aparently going to be pink!
-
oh my good kristan the high sparkle blue is a great colour as it is pink to far gt1 50 is a rare bike although paint isnt a big deal i spose did you get a struted front fender if it has struts you can only run a trails front tyre not knobby pink try and sway her the blue is one of the best colours thanks Michael. :)
-

sorry i mean the low mounted front fender wont work with knobby front tyre not enough clearance his gt50 is high sparkle blue and i thought that is a much better looking colour than pink any way your choice thanks Michael. :)
