Title: Wanted XT 500 1977,78,79,80,81 model muffler

Any help to locate XT 500 1977,78,79,80, 1981 muffler would be great im after org one :'( 0408909859

I'm not sure originals still exist but try "Musket" or "Muskrat" mufflers in NZ.

They do what looks to be a pretty fair repro, photo's on their website.

Thanks for help brentj muffler is not for me , a bloke has a brand new TT500 seat i want but he wants me to find him a muffler before he sells me the seat tricky stuff i no,hope i will find one some where in oz

musket mufflers are available from any shops who deal with http://www.mcleodaccessories.com.au/ who are the Australian importers. The mufflers are faily good repros but they dont have that little box muffler just before the main muffler. i was discussing this with a customer yesterday whos original muffler is just too far gone to restore and what we plan on doing is getting a musket muffler and welding on the original little box muffler so it looks more original.

heaps of people are desperate for these mufflers and they are getting extremly hard to find. most guys are making do with the Musket repros.

watch out for ones on ebay. Sellers have been known to jazz up old dodgy ones with body filler and then repaint them to give them the appearance they are in good condition.
