Pick a side, and debate the subject ;D this is all just pissing in the wind but as a little light-hearted debate with some good retorts could be a good laugh ;D. Of course it is only tongue in cheek stuff so treat it that way, I just thought we could have a bit of humour going on in here ;) ;D
The Debate subject;
125 real mens bikes;
I'm here to tell you, that there isnt a more thruthful statement than the subject that we are debating tonight. Oh yes, the other team are going to have you believe that a 125 is just a small tiddler of a bike. It doesnt go fast. Wheres the power!!! No grunt!!!! And YES all of it is true. But and I do mean BUT. We aint here to debate the bike. We are here to debate if real men ride 125's. And the answer is YES!! And the opposition know they havnt got a crankcase to argue. Thats why they will try to attack the bike... They will try to have you believing that a 125 is a pussys bike, for juniors, not a real mans bike. All these guys know what it is like to ride a 125.... now they ride big bores.... And of course they would never go back to riding a 125...... and why !! Its to small, no power.... NO.. Its simple...... They know how hard it is to ride one......... not to let it bog down..... to keep it on the boil..... never miss a gear.. Sounds hard ya.... not like havnt low down grunt to keep ya outta trouble. Or enough power ta just ride through the rough stuff.... No ... there is none of that on a 125...you have to ride the bike..... your the real man doing it... Thats why these guys dont wanna ride a real mans bike...... its to HARD.. They need there low down grunt. They dont wanna change gears any more. They want the bike to do it all for them. Is this a real man!!! NO....... Real Men Ride 125's ...Yes
I've said it before. Yes. Real men ride 125's...... And how do they ride them...... WFO..... Wide forking Open......Its where it all started.125 riders do everything hard..... just ask there women.....coz they know..... If ya cant keep her screaming ,, Ya just dreaming. And its the same with there bikes.....There is only 2 places ya have the throttle. Off or WFO. No in-between. No middle of the road....No I can torque my way outta this.......... Lets look at that concept. Off ; On..... Off ; On....... No throttle control here, No rolling the throttle on.......No pussy footing around........ Just get that thing open. Open ; Closed ; Open ; Closed........ None of this action. Roll on ; Roll off ;Roll on ; Roll off ; Come on guys It kinda looks abit like ya having a wank!!!! No , 125's are real mens bikes. Ya have ta be fit. No arm chair ride here. Miss any of those 6 gears and that rider behind you is now in front of you. Lets face it, the old saying 'its not how big it is, its how you use it that counts' is pretty true. And all you guys on you big bores, well, I can think of another saying about that. Is it really true that riding a big bore compensates for smaller things else where!!! The older we get the wiser we get.. so we all think ....... Is that why older guys like to ride the big bikes because they are wiser...and know that its easier......Well real men dont care. They ride 125's...........Its that simple........ You either ride a 125 or your've gone soft. And that my opposition is where your at.. 125 riders dont wanna race against anything but true motocross bikes....... Therefore its the rider that has to do the real work to win.....And this my fellow 125 riders I share with you the knowledge that you are the Real men of motocross....
;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
I hope you find it amusing and can debate the subject after having a few cold ones ;D ;D
-
Do we have to wait for the opposition to chime in before backing up your words of truth?
:)
-
Hah i thought you only rode the little one's when you could no longer start the big one's.
-
after reading DJ's opening arguement i have nowhere to go. oh here we go
i am a recent 500 rider and only ever owned one toy bike (1977 YZ125D) for 1 year then it was 250 city for me. 125cc belong on mowers, stationary engines and grass trimmers. if you want to move dirt then get a engine with a cylinder you can put a fist in not a thumb !
-
Yes I do have a 125 and yes it's all or nothing .... unlike the big old lazy thumpers that come on slow with a generous power curve to lug my tied old bones around ;D
But then again there is no substitute for horse power that cubes ;)
-
What a great thread I am like my bike a small package just waiting to be unleased!!!
-
Oh DJ! That phrase 'its not the size but how you use it' was made up by a 125 rider with a small pecker and more to the point, SMALL GONADS!! :D I always thought the 125's are more like a womens race so all the skirts get a go too! You're obviously lashing out at all the real men due to your low self esteem, and rightly so being a 125 rider or as i like to call them, a 12nuthin', cause they got nuthin' and either have you.......shit hang on ??? i got about five 125's in the shed :-[ . Hmmmm er 125's are great, got to be on the ball, no arm chair rides here ;D Geez, i used to be indecisive...but now im not so sure . Love 'em all ;)
-
In the spirit of this debate i will refrain from slinging abuse at your reference to size of one's genitals required to ride a big bore ,trench digggin,Arm lengthing, rock spewing powerhouse . I only use one of your photo's to disprove your argument . The YZ465 spewing out roost like a powerscreen is why we choose to ride big bore's. you cant roost like that on a piddly little 125 you would up on the pegs ,fanning the clutch, desparetly trying to get the front wheel off the ground . But sitting on the lounge chair and making sure that anyone who is thinking about passing wont be able to see if they get past is why you choose to ride a big bore if you are man enough & have the Kahuna's.

125 roostin
Digging trenches, moving dirt- come on guys this is motocross not farmwork, get a bulldozer for that ;D
keep coming with your side of the story coz I know the 125 guys are armed and waiting ;D
-
listen up folks!
it's not about roost!
it's not about the size of ya god damn gonads!
it's all about self belief and that my friends is definately something the classic 125 rider has.
self belief.
knowing he has to rail the outside line faster than a speeding bullet cause we all know the inside line sucks!
roost is just wasted dirt! hell, ya don't even need to water a decent 125 track because the real men 125 riders are all environmentalists in disguise.
why shift dirt with ya back wheel on a big lump of mobile scrap when ya can go flat out over it and not leave a trace of your presence.
i'm just about to call up me good old mate Dave Thorpe and check in with him as to what size bike that young yankie dude was ridin that flew past him at the des nations a few years back.
-
oh ;D oh ;D oh Vandy when I said the 125 guys are armed and waiting I didnt think you would come out with your 6 shooter blazing ;D ;D

Many forum members would know Noel.
Noel's part of a long line of bushrangers and lumberjacks - tough men able to fell 100' iron barks with nought but a hand saw.
He never considered a career as a jockey.
Noel chooses to race 125s, and he'll race them against all comers - even the biggest of bikes - 500cc+ of so-called "man's bike"...
This is what happens:
See who's got the holeshot? None of those "big men" with their big bikes, it was the real man with the little bike.
-
DJ that dirt is obviously Kiwi dirt which we all know is inferior to Aussie dirt and Kiwi dirt is much lighter, giving the casual observer that your 125 has heaps of power.Besides 100cc is more than enough.
;D ;D ;D
-
Yep, Noel showed em how to take the outside line at speed alright. And you 125 guys are right, I am converted. Bloody great fun, I'm sellin the 500 to buy another 125. And we all know that blokes need 500s for the same reason that kids put those big mufflers on their cars - to make up for lack of performance. And you know what THAT means.
-
There is nothing more fun than roostin' other guys with a smaller capacity bike. The psycological damage it causes along with the subsequent alcoholic dependancies is well worth it. ;)
-
for a bit more proof on the ability of a 125 to inflict confidence sapping damage to the riders of bigger bikes or just for a bit of fun

check out around the 50 second mark and around 5mins 40 sec
Cheers

Last weekend one of the races was an 'all in open class', all the bikes were 'big bore' bar one. This is a picture for the holeshot. #30 won the race out right.
#30 is a 1985 RM125 :o :o :o ;D ;D ;D
-
Have all the big bore riders ,
gone to bed with their warm milk already
Noel
-
and i just noticed too that he's so smart, he's actually riding beside that roosty stuff and not in it.
only big bore riders ride in roosty stuff!
-
You Tread lightly,Tree Huggin,Undie's on the outside enviromentalist's make me want to puke. With your sensitive ,lightweight propulsion unit's. I checked the video's and all that was needed was a little less roll off . It's called throttle control (hello) it's the control on the right on a big bike you have to adjust this as you are riding on a big Bore . You dont roll up to the bikeshop and say i want something i can start in moccasins please !!!. I quote the great philospher MR T. Stop your Jibber Jabber Fool .Get Some Nuts. Big Bore's need Big Balls. oh and good health insurance but i like em

Noel
When mum says it's time for bed, then it's definitely time for bed.
-
Lookout no milk tonight it's Chicken Beer Night.
-
The arm pump must be to much for the big bore riders to reply ??? ;D
-
Its a wonder 125 riders have time to reply as they are usually in the shed doing ANOTHER rebuild!
-
090 just another reason why REAL MEN RIDE 125's and not lazy guy's bikes ;D. When are the big bores coming out to play ??? Or is our argument to strong ::) come on hit us with all the roost ya got, we can take it we ride 125's ;D ;D
-
So why does a 125 need a dinner plate rear spocket plus a six speed box then ;D
-
Hey didn't Dave Bailey win the motorcross des nation's on a 125 against the big boy's back in the 80's ps. i think ??? ???
-
what the hell is chicken beer?? ???
-
johnny o mara on a cr125 at the 85 mx des nations in germany won a moto outright against the 500s....
-
give me another chicken beer :'( :'(
-
Johnny O'Mara, at the Italian MXDN in 1986, beat Dave Thorpe for 2nd (Bailey won). Thorpe was riding a full spec RC500 and was the recently crowned world champion and O'Mara was riding an RC125. If you like to watch absolute perfection, watch a DVD called "The Dream Team" all about the American team in 1986, David Bailey (500), Rick Johnson (250) and O'Mara (125). All the US team was Team Honda and they put together as close to perfection you will ever see. It's funny to watch because during the 125/500 race the footage is mainly 500 action, but you can constantly hear in the background this screaming little 125 of O'Maras. Absolutely fantastic.
In NSW, most tracks we run are an advantage because of how tight and slow the tracks are, but in Vic and Qld, it's big bore territory.
Speaking of "big bores", where's that Squirtmoto character?
-
i was close.. ;D thanks magoo... ive had a few too many ales tonight.....
-
I can remember a Very nice young feller at the nats riding a sweet little yellow 125 for Donnie in the all powers .. picked himself up a nice podium finish
-
Can you still buy that dvd Dream Team ??? ???
-
Ok DJR,
Time for you to captain the other side with some sensible argument
-
Hey don;t 125 rider's work out to Richard simmons dvd's ??? GO Big Bore
-
Geez Noel that would be going against the gain for me ;) but here goes I'll give it a shot.
Will Ummmm will,...................Ummmmm will.....yeah ummm ....nice weather......ummm yeah ???
-
From many moons of playing with 2smokers from 125 Victa powered grassgrubs to fully sorted GT750 with chambers I have learnt the only difference is how many teeth they have and how hard they bite when they hi side you.
I dont have the kahunas to ride anything bigger than a 250 these days . I will ride them but wont push them cause hell Im 46 and those mongrels hurt when they throw you and they throw you hard . Perhaps ive grown some smarts and realise im only in it for the fun and i can do that on just about anything.
Vive la TS 185 8)
-
Wild Turkey & cola. Ok every now and then with the right pilot you can win on sewing machine , usually it's on a motocross track in ya backyard. I ask you to post a couple photo's just give the B.B argument some levity.please DJ . The Big Bloke pulling a mono as he holeshots the field in style and the mighty 465 . And just check out the riders cool ,calm and on a knife's edge just keeping the raging beast between ther legs under control .
-
Nice I'm off to poor my self one

Ok guys the Jagermiester is kicking in....... ;) ;D
125- Real Mens Bikes
When I was a young boy I thought like a boy and rode 125’s but when I became a man I put away my toys. And that’s what 125’s are TOYS. The reason why boys have to ride them WFO is because they cant go fast enough. Oh yeah, ya can get lucky on a tight little boys track where an open classer cant get out of 2nd gear but don’t they call that TRIALS riding? This is racing and racing means having enough power to never have to go looking for it. Ya know you’re on a piddler when the missus say ‘oh that’s a cute little bike, I could ride that’
No real men do not ride 125’s.
Real men ride and tame the Kings of Motocross…
Real men moved on to Real bikes, lets face it, if ya gonna have power, why have it in a little short burst and then run out, WHATS ALL THAT ABOUT.
Real men on 125’s HAHA, They wouldn’t even be able to start a real bike let alone ride one.
Real men don’t get intimidated by getting sideways, 4th gear wheelstands on a bike that has 40 horses to try and buck them off…No.
Real men have 4 times the CC’s of those motorised pushbikes but the same amount of braking…….go figure that.
125 riders real men…., if they where real men they wouldn’t have brakes on those pissy little bikes.
6 speeds…..why not 10 speeds
Kids ride BMX bikes, Teenagers ride 125’s and yes we all know who rides the real bikes
REAL MEN RIDE BIG BORE.
-
Ooohhhh I've had tooooo many shot of Jagermiester dropped in my beer :P
-
YeeeHa,
when I grow up I'm going to get me one of those Jagermiester kick starts and ride me a real bike
Like a real Man
I hope Husky61 will lend me one of his 500's :D

Aaagghhh now thats what i like . There is machine and rider as one trying to speed up the earths rotation singlehandedly. And here is another one for the affirmative. This is why everyone wants to go B.B. not content with smokin the opposition ,he,s rubbin there face in it .Cool .Picture worth a thousand words i hope you havent spent all ya money coz you got nuffin. This guy looks like James Bond ,he could pull over mid race ,nail halle Berry in a pit tent ,remount and still win but not everyone can pull it off .thats why they make little bike's so everyone get's to ride . Big Bore ,Big Balls = Real Men.

Oh Hilly I will whisper this to ya so not everyone hears ;) but ya James Bond is riding a PE175 ;D
-
Hah there was always a chance .Not to big on zooks but anyway it,s a good shot and i love pulling a mono out of corners like that and i love doin it on our YZ80,100,250,400,465 even on the pitbikes even the RV90.the bike doesnt make any difference it,s how far you can push the mount your On . Ride hard and dont forget to have a laugh. Hilly.

-
(http://i45.photobucket.com/albums/f65/djracingyz/MastersofMotocross07383.jpg)
125 roostin
Digging trenches, moving dirt- come on guys this is motocross not farmwork, get a bulldozer for that ;D
keep coming with your side of the story coz I know the 125 guys are armed and waiting ;D
DJ your argument was holding water :) then you go and put up a picture of one of those Modern kettles some disillusioned fools think are VMX bikes ::) ::) ::)
-
Right on Bill - what's "vintage" about a bike with disc brake, water cooling and linkage suspension? ;)
-
POKEY
The young fella at the nationals had youth on his side, not taking thing away from his riding ability.
sheezas mate he was a third of the age of most of the other riders .
As I see it 125s you can flog the shit out of them and get away with it .... try the same with the bigger bikes and they will bite you back .
