Dave , and others just a note about NASCRAP. I don't get it.......
I am white, southern, a "gearhead", have family who races dirt track, but NASCRAP-I don't get it. It is a sad caricature of what it once was, sad fact is .....the most( often only) recognized motorsport in the world.
Why? Marketing...BS. and more marketing BS-kind of a strnager association with the Nashville Country Music( what they are passing off as country music these days-that is)-huntin, fishin crowd riding ATVs etc. Which is great each to his own.......but it just chaps my ass("arse?") when you mention to someone that you will be at the races-and they assume at a NASCRAP race.
Just remember for us VMX types to stick together, as even worldwide we are a motorsports minority..now where did I leave that banjo? ;D

Hi there banjo boy, lol - just kidding!
If good ole Thurlow Paul Schmieding is anything to rate NASCAR fans these days then the 'sport' must be in a lot of trouble.
Mate, I think you need a holiday to take in the spectacle of our V8 Supercar races on tracks that have left and right (and often tight corners) - heaven forbid - real corners. Or do some searching of the iconic Bathurst races. here are two sites to get you going;

Aussies love their racing irrespective of how many wheels they have hence our latest world champion, and that kid started out life in a town called Tamworth. Another country kid you guys know of course is Chad Reed and we just seem to keep popping em out year after year - not bad for a country of some 20.000.000 people (OK - I know it's more than that but not sure if half the extras are worth including, lol)
It's a real shame that NASCAR has gone down the dunny (slang for toilet - we're gonna learn ya soem OZ) just a shame the guy who stole all that money from me wasn't flushed down after it !!!
Come over to the promised land sometime - there'll be heaps of people who would take you in if I know my countrymen! (oh, and women too - they're pretty friendly too)
