iDEAS ?
These forks are ina 74 mx 125, but i dont think they are 74 anything yamaha, they are 30mm tubes.
-
gee that's a tough one Freaky :D I could take a guess but I may as well not ;D
assuming a picture is in order :P
-
opps try that ...soz
-
hmmm, im thinking suzuki. is it a 12mm axle?
maybe 78 RM100 or 79-85 RM80.....looking like RM 80 to me
-
Wild guess: YZ80, probably a F or a G or thereabouts?
Oh, derr... what about early monoshock DT175?
-
is the front wheel 17 inch?
my listing for DT175 says 30mm up to 76 but did they have leading axle in 76?
-
got a yamaha sticker on them ( not genuine) are there stamps on them somewhere ?
-
Front wheel in pic is the 21" Mudcatcher from a YZ125A.
Note how short the lower legs are relative to the wheel rim, which is why I was thinking YZ80.
-
early yz80 i think. good pick up nathan
-
look inside the hub for any markings. that will tell the story
-
Hub/wheel and forks don't have to match each other.
That's the little non-conical hub that's used in AT1, DT100, DT125, YZ100, MX125, MX175, and YZ125A (and some ag bikes).
That type of hub, in combination with an alloy mudcatcher was only fitted to YZ125A. The black hub confirms this.
The front brake plate is obviously from a non-leading axle bike - most likely the same YZ125A.
So the mystery only relates to the forks themselves.
-
Freaky the forks are most surely RM80N/T ;)
-
Well what ever they are they dont belong on that bike, happy to sell or swapem for some correct ones.
-
im with Doc on this, RM80 forks
-
What year would that be ish ? i guess if there pre 75 they can stay, but being leading axle i had my doubts ?
-
around 79-85 so not pre 75 legal thats for sure
-
perfectly legal Leith, all you have to do is bolt on a pair of TM125/TS125/100 lowers although the fork total length will be an inch or so longer than TM125 when assembled ;)
