Title: Hello from NZ
Post by: ss2fly on March 13, 2009, 05:43:55 pm
Hello all.

Andy here from Tauranga New Zealand.

I am a 33 year old "government employee" with a wife, 2 kids and a bloody great mortgage...

But I do have a bike of sorts...

A 1972 Suzuki TS125T that has been in the family since new.

I have decided to restore it using a heap of NOS parts my Father aquired new from the factory for free when they were going to dump them!!!

I have already built a new engine that runs perfectly and I will do up the rest of the bike over time.

I still have a brand new crankcase anongst other bits and want to build a "hot street" engine for it using a TM125 barrel, head, carb etc...

If anyone has any any tip regarding this new powerhouse please let me know as Im sure this must have been done before. ( I know a bloke whose TF125 does 185km/h !!! .... has one or two mods....have seen it with my own 2 eyes so I know its for real...)

I dont want to be able to go that fast as I use the old girl to go to work daily.

Anyway, I will let you all know how it goes...

Try calling Shane Snowden, the whizkid sparkie in your phonebook, he's an ex-125 ace and may be able to pass on tips and advice for your project, I think his shop's in Koromiko Street.  ;)

Na, under its own power. From memory it has MASSIVE porting, bigger, higher etc...,38mm carb, KX125 chamber amongst a lot of other things. he races it regulary and sees off KR1,s Norton 750's and various other production bikes. VERY clever man. Annoys a lot of other people....HA HA...

I think Tauranga has the best climate anywhere and some great riding. Nice part of the world.
