Title: Hallman Husky Tank
Post by: karl Landrus on March 12, 2009, 01:18:48 pm
I can remember the first time I saw a Hallman/Works Husky tank back in the early 70s. It was on a post card Arne Kring sent to me via my brother who was in Sweden at the time.  I looked at that card for hours, I studied the picture on the front and read the note Arne had written to me about how to train for motocross. I have to say I love the early days of Motocross and the memories they bring back to me, as I am sure they do you as well.  That being said I was like that little kid all over again when I was given the chance to build one of those trick Hallman Works Husqvarna tanks for a customer the other day. I have attached a pic of that tank maybe it will invoke some memories for you as well.

I think they were made in England by Lyta, i still have three of them and sold one to Kevin Brown a couple of years ago he had it on his Husky 400 at the Show and Shine at Camden. Paul Neilsen had one on the Husky 400 he sold on ebay a couple of months ago.

Hey Karl,
Just out of interest how many hours does it take to construct a tank like that?
And how much would one cost [don't want one, just interested in how much craftsmanship is worth].
keep up the good work.
Thanks
