Nice repairs on the tank, fine bit of work, once it was painted (with a brush or roller) you would hardly see where the dints were. ;D
-
"painted with a brush or roller "
just as a race bike should be .

All good rally car paint jobs are done with a mop - fast and... um, fast...
Aerosol tins for the win on bike stuff.

you guys can be cruel when ya want!
i think the paint looks kind of cosmopolitan really...

It might make a reasonably cheap pre 70 ride for someone with a few small mods like getting rid of the reed barrel and fitting a piston port version and fitting a square section swingarm. How much?

Hey Caps i will leave it thanks .I'm after something a bit later but pre 75.
-
$310 the lot

Why do you suggest get ride of the reeds ?
-
Reed valve = not pre-70 legal.
The ol' DT1 is reasonable pre-70 race bike, but is pretty seriously outclassed as a pre-75 bike.
So if you've got one, then the 'sensible' thing to do, is make it a pre-70 bike.
You don't need to have a square swing-arm on a DT1 to make it pre-70 legal anymore, FWIW.
-
Ahh- didnt think there was any advantage in going back wards, hence why the question RE : no reeds
-
In reality the DT1 is quite a long way from being competitive without a LOT of development. As an entry level bike it's great as you can have some cheap fun and improve it as you go but in stock or near stock condition compared to CZ, Maico, Husky and BSA it's nowhere near ready.

still for sale will take $200 cash
