Title: Making Maico Parts
Post by: Ji Gantor on February 13, 2009, 09:27:37 am
Has anybody else been making parts that they could not get or just wanted to give it ago.

If so lets see images of what you have made.

This new part is a chain guide.
I first made a template out of cardboard.

Chain guide.

I gave my creation a polish and a test fit.
I was going to port it for sex appeal but I got lazy.

Looking good.

This is a KTM rear disc guard I made 3 years ago.
It looks rough because it has had a really hard life ( you have no idea ).
I am surprised that it still looks this good.

Be carful with the steel piston stop. When I was working on chainsaws I saw a few guys punch holes in pistons with steel piston stops. I liked to use a peice of rope coiled up in the combustion chamber. You wouldnt happen to have a lathe would you.

Hi Ba o2 xr,
I have never seen that.
But that is why we all do this, to find out what others have found and gain from their experiances.

Yes I have a lathe and a small mill but I only use the mill to finish a rough surface.
