I have just purchased an '86 250 xc....that's what the compliance plate says.

But on checking the engine and frame numbers on husky parts web site they have no listing for a 86 model 250 xc and the '85 engine number is totally different.

I have checked the husky club web site as well and even those numbers don't match.

Mine are

Frame cp14123
Engine 2048 0685

Any ideas?

If you check model id at www.husqvarna-parts.com  the 2046 engine prefix indicates the engine is a 1986 250XC which is different from CR & WR You may want to look closer at the engine number as I have a 1985 400WRX and a 1986 400 Enduro. I have noticed the number on the 1985 is especially difficult to read.  2048 only shows up for a 1974 400WR which I am sure will not fit into the CP frame

Yeah, I have noticed some unexplained variances from those listed numbers. My theory is low production numbers and maybe predominantly hand assembly. Any ideas?
