Title: packed well or well packed ?
Post by: Freakshow on September 18, 2007, 03:44:32 pm
Fiberglass seat section and F/G tank =$90
Postage = $60
3x cans of expander foam =priceless

well i had some Fiberglass sent out from the states, the last thing i said to the guy was dont forget to pack them well.

well they have just arrived and indeed they are well packed, im not sure thought that i meant put them in a plastic bag, centre them in a box then buy 3 can of expanding foam and empty the contents.   At first i was was overjoyed, but after shelling them like a nut for the last 3 hours trying to get them out of there incasing ( even one end out the foam goes in all the gooves)

i will be a little less demanding next time  ::)

That reminds me of the time I posted a micrometer back to the mate I borrowed it from (he whinged ,pissed and moaned about getting it back for a week) I placed it in a small box which was fitted into a larger box, which was fitted into a larger box, which was fitted into a larger box, which was fitted into a larger box, which was fitted into a larger box, which was fitted into a larger box, which was fitted into a larger box,..... By the time I posted it, it was in a box that once housed a 26 inch TV  ;D. It must have taken him an hour to unpack it  :D :D :D :D

Freaky, maybe the guy tossed in a new seat foam for free and you have just cut it all up ;D. I gotta say the yanks do know how to pack stuff. I got a piston kit of ebay and the box it was posted in was big enough to put a tank and 2 wheels in.

I reckon UPS must only charge by weight cos I got a set if rings sent to me in a massive box with those airbag thingys all round it. Easily big enough to fit a fuel tank in...................  ::)

 i got a Kenny roberts frame and i needed the right glass as the KR has thick down tubes etc, actually even the gusset are a bit werid.   Got the front spooler.  still traking down a rear Q/c hub and im looking for a fast mx250 motor - anyone ?  then if i can clear a space on the floor somewhere i might be able to put the bloody thing together over xmas. i have to move about 4 bikes just to get to the back door ATM so im weary about having another bike sitting down there as gyprock and all my boxes seems to be like magnets when they fall over.

yes you will notice that they alway put them in big bags, its a weight only postal system, unlike here where they cube it or weight it and you pay whichever is higher, or they dam well feel like.

Someone told me you can still sea post out of england :O) yet to be confirmed though.
