I'll start this one off with a guy I used to ride against in Vicco. He was a "C" grader back in the early 80"s
riding a KX 250. What set this guy apart was the fact that he was stone "DEAF". He used to ride the bike fealing the vibrations through the machine. He was a very good rider regardless of the dissability and used to finish in the top 5-10 riders. Any of you that raced back then in Victoria probably remember him. I can't remember his name but I do remember him!! 8)
Bill.

yes i know of him, i saw him at Ravenswood 18mths ago riding a Montessssa. Ross will know his name as i forget it, i think it is Ken?
I know a bloke in my club with only the left arm, he trail rides and is very fast, nothing stops him (mud, rocks, trees, steep downhills).
the left side of his bars has throttle, clutch, front brake and start button. throttle works in reverse action. He is as tough as a room full of lesbo's

i think that you will find his name is Guy Lampard.
Havn't seen him around for a while. Last raced against him at Colac 03/04. We battled for most of the day with me beating him once and he beating me in the 2nd race.

Thanks Ray,
Does he still ride? and does he do the VMX stuff or moderns

The Girl you speak of from Geelong sounds like Lisa Irwin, (short blond hair?) she is from a horsey background, she was or still is a jockey. She used to ride at the club day events at Barrabool three or four years ago, still using a block to stand on and still very quick.
-
would that be any relation to Wayne Irwin?
-
Yep, little sister.

Hi Boys, Bahnsy beat me to it, nice fellow Guy. Last time I saw him, he and his family were at The titles in Tassie last year & he was competing.

i remember peter christian riding with a broken foot he was a very Guts'y rider AND what did he ride Ross ::)

Ross,
Guy rode a Husky 300 something and is a clean racer. Raced bar to bar for many a race and never once touched.
Do remember that the Husky was a prick of a thing to start though, the cold Colac morning probably diddn't help.
This is a pic of Guy at Colac in 2004 (i think)

There is a bloke in the Trials community who is a legend. He is deaf, has 2 middle fingers missing on his left hand and just the thumb and fore finger on his right. He used to ride in C grade and to watch him in action was awesome. How he kept going is beyond me! Legend in all aspects!
-
