Title: Does anyone recognize this??

The muffler below I thought maybe CZ or Hodaka but with the aid of glorious hindsight I think I thought wrong and it may well be one of the Japanese big 4 ??? does anyone have any idea ?? buggered if I know and I can't actually get any measurements or dimensions until it arrives :-\

Doc...It could quite possible be a Bultaco Lobito "pickle" muffler. It's been a generation since I've seem one but it looks familiar. One of the Bultaco faithful will know for certain.

Thanks Firko, I'll have a looky around the Bultaco sites, apparently in extremely good nic and was being passed in at $9 :P ..another bloody impulse buy but it may well suit my needs perfectly if it's not overly weighty :)

It won't be altered so if one day I find it's an uber rare item it'll still be exactly the same..'cept shinier ;D

Late edit, I'd reckon you're on the money with Bultaco thanks Firko. I've emailed a restorer of such to see what they think. Just incase ;) 'tis bigger than I thought from the looks :P

Doc,
I'd nearly guarantee it is a Bul "chrome pickle" muffler. Came on Mk5/6 Pursangs & Mk5 Lobito

You didn't read my post properly Ross ::) I mentioned I didn't know what it was off but it didn't matter so long as it wasn't overly heavy for my project. I didn't want to use something 'rare' that would be better served fitted on the correct bike. I was simply curious. Trash or treasure? $9 for a nice 60's period muffler? it sort of depends on your perspective ;)
