Just a trivial bit of stuff I stumbled across and thought would share. When I was a little kid (under 5) we lived just across the creek from this track at Clayfield (Toombul). My dad would take me over to this very track and the smell of nitro and burning rubber even as a kid had my adrenaline going. Even young and with sharp eyesight one cannot actually see these cars when they come on song. What appears as black shadows around the track is actually shredded and molten rubber as these cars even at 200+mph still have the drive to fry the the rear tyres. Imagine the speed without a tether holding it back or imagine hypothetically if you built to full scale with the same power to weight ratio..we're talking superbloodysonic! :o not vmx but it is 2 stroke and they have been running these cars for as long as I can remember and I do still slip over and watch them occassionally ;)

Hey Doc,
When i was a kid my brothers boss (GRAHAM BLIIM)was racing a couple of those at Ashfield in sydney, he actually got a dentists pneumatic (air) drill and converted it into a supercharger then fitted it to one of these motors-but didnt work out that well as it was not his fastest car..

Doc, I think I remember that track, was it in the park opposite Toombul shopping centre?

That's the one Snowy, still there and they still run the cars. As much as they fascintate me I may only watch them for about 10 or 20 minutes before I start to lose interest but still something different and many of the cars are vintage as this shit was around long before the notion of remote control was ever conceived ;)
