Title: Progressive Shocks
Post by: LWC82PE on January 21, 2009, 11:59:47 pm
does anyone know for sure if you can rebuild these shocks? ive always been led to believe you cant.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NEW-1977-1980-SUZUKI-RM-PE-250-400-PROGRESSIVE-SHOCKS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp3286Q2em20Q2el1116QQitemZ150138044492QQptZMotorcyclesQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

and by that i mean you can get inside them by removing an end cap and without cutting them open

Being one who's probably far too worried about appearance, having seen a pair on a 250b, I think they just look awful. You would hope though at that price that they are rebuildable.

Not only do they look ordinary, they don't work so well and I don't think they're rebuildable. Why would anyone want to use them when there are so many good shocks available today like Ohlins and YSS? I guess it must be price. My mate in the USA had a pair of them on his KX Kawasaki and reckons they were'nt up to it. Even if they were the worlds best, they're uglier than a Menai YZ.
