Post by: squirtmoto on January 19, 2009, 11:44:30 pm
I also have a near new TM 250/400 chamber not sure what one ::)
Rusty seems to think it's a 400.  It is in immaculate condition no rust, dings or imperfections
I'll post a picture

ok your bike is 74?. 74 and 75 are same pipe but they list 2 part numbers. maybe ones an updated version?

if yours is that different to the one for sale then the one for sale might be for a 400?

Part # = 14310-30621
Part Description = BODY,MUFFLER
Model Count = 2
TM250L 1974
TM250M 1975

superceeds to this

Part # = 14310-30621-H01
Part Description = BODY,MUFFLER
Model Count = 2
TM250L 1974
TM250M 1975

so what do you think it is
it is bigger than it looks in picture
i would say minimum 250
it has clearance dents on it (genuine)
maybe someone can recognise the model ;D
it is genuine no mods or dents ;)

here's the TS185 RT kit pipe for comparison..I spot some big differences..it's not 185 ;)  I'd near go as far to say it's not Suzuki, Kawasaki maybe? possible it's TM/TS400 also :-\ the rear mounting design should be helpfull for ID

It has 2 dent on the neck like it should have a few spring or its clearing somthing on the frame like the motor plates, that also might help.

I just dont like the end cap the way the end cone just stops, ther is somting in that , could it be some kind of roar/ endure pipe ? like an early TS ?  Somthing that uses a big Mother muffler

could be a TS250 RT kit pipe. The angle and size of the header is somewhat different to the 185 kit pipe resembling more a 250 as Bill and Russ mentioned. The mount I cannot place excepting I have seen it on some smaller TS models (100 and 125's) it may fit a TM250 but only the early model as the header angle changed slightly in '74 'I think' I don't pretend to know everything but it isn't RH and it isn't TM250 or 400 so there aren't too many other options. The pressing and indentations do look more like the kit pipes. I'll have an half educated guess and say it's '71-'74 TS250 never seen a 250 kit pipe but I do know there were some that exited stage left and some stage right. Just trying to picture where it would mount on a TS and I imagine the cutouts at back tuck it closer to the frame and the higher mount would then go close to fitting the stock TS up pipe lower mounting bolt hole :-\ try it on a frame for sure and see but yup..I go TS250. ;)

Seems to me that Doc is on the money (again).

TS/TM250 pipe exited from barrell on LHS; 185 on RHS. This pipe appears to exit on LHS & two dents in header would be for front engine mount bolts. Looks to me to suit 71-73TM250 or any TS250 to 76 'A' model.

One way to make certain if its 250 or 185 - measure header OD at ex flange: 250 OD 51mm apx; 185 OD 46mm apx
