Maico James is a regular on the Yahoo Maico forum and anybody who frequents that forum will know the work that's gone into that bike. It sure is a nice AW even though I don't like polished tanks on them.

Good thing I sold my AW Firko, because I was gonna polish the tank. ;D
James is a good guy and it is sad to see him selling something he enjoys and has put so much work into. :(

Just want to say thanks. I am humbled by the kind words from Firko and Jay. .....especially Firko since he appreciates most the "correct" brand of motorcycle ;D ;D.
Thank you,
James

Hey James.......Great to hear from you. What a shame you have to sell your lovely old AW. Surely you can sell the dog or something Japanese! I really hope you find a way to keep it mate.
-
always sorry to see someone part with a bike they love and restored.
of course when Firko mentioned selling something Japanese he was refering to any Yamaha's, Suzuki's or Kwaka's in the stable , surely he wouldn't mean a Honda?
Hope you can hang onto your Maico.

What a beautiful bike. I keep drooling on my key board everytime i look at it on my watch list. I want it soooo bad. How do you get a bike from Texas to me???

You know, you can get it there..it costs but can be done. I think she would have a happy life there-really getting appreciated. I just lowered the reserve too.
Firko, I have sold everything Japanese I had-sorry Hoony it was Honda stuff..83 CR125 stuff, and 80 CR125 stuff. The Bultaco and Penton parts are gone, the Yammie Mx is gone, only minimal Ossa Phantom stuff remains-left by my late father in 1992( a frame and on engine case just so it's the heart of the bike he left me). The only thing Japanese left is the Nissan Pathfinder, and it's worth little resale , the wife needs this car. I have to drive at my job so I use the truck M-F.
If it meets reserve to a racer in Oz I will re-polish the aluminum as it will be disassembled to ship anyway.
Thank you,
James

It looks like it can go from Texas to Long Beach, Ca. port for about
$ 500, though may be less as I likely can put in on a smaller dismension pallet.
Thank you, James
